my thoughts on officiating tonight? It will be piss poor. Not because the hawks and their incessant whining, but because thats what NHL officiating is; piss poor.

the most laughable and pathetic part about all of this to me is that he is complaining about a call that happened with TWO THIRDS of the game left to be played. Its not like this occurred at a crucial time in the third. His team was down only TWO goals with 40 minutes to play, and he is honestly blaming a SIX to ONE loss on a 2 minute roughing call? Lol quennville... you embarrass yourself and your team.

yeah whats with Q honestly. Worst call in the history of sports? It wasnt even the worst call that period.... I hope he realized how embarrassing that press conference was and how much of a fool he looked like. I feel like the hawks lost any possible edge they had after the coach comes up on stage whining like a schoolgirl. Kinda pathetic really. I always liked Q too, but you can see someones true colors in the face of adversity. Babs always composed and collected.

nhl i will lose every last remaining shred of respect if nothing is issued for this behavior.

i love how over on the DUcks boards they are praising 'scotty' for his amazing fighting ability and courage. They have the youtube clip posted... funny how not ONE of them has mentioned the ridiculous elbow. Niedermeyer should be thrown out for the playoffs IMO. The fact that the league lets this s*** go is pathetic.

the ducks are pathetic. Niedermeyer should get suspended for that elbow what a POS. The league wont do ANYTHING about this, but that team is a bunch of goons. And also wings: PLAY BETTER, come on

its true zetterberg is great defensively but so is datsyuk. Datsyuk is clearly the better player IMO, and by a wide margin. Zetterberg has certainly had his moments, but as previously mentioned, they arent very consistent. Thats not a knock on zetterberg, only in comparison to the great datsyuk. i always thought it a little odd that zetterberg got the smythe last year. I think that was more to do with the wings being soo evenly spread out in terms of their talent, it would be tough to choose one player. Basically, zetterbergs play against crosby on the 5 on 3 last year where he tied up his stick is the MAIN reason he got the consmythe. Without that play, it would have gone to someone else. In any event. Both of these players are gonna need to step and start scoring goals. Datsyuk is certainly due, and id love to see that D-Z connection get going like we all know it can.

this happened earlier this year during a regular season game on FS-D. Definately a major broadcast mistake, and im surprised its happened again. Was hilarious, i think it was mickey had something stuck in his throat and kept like hocking loogies. Oh yeah and it was free hot dog night and the announcers were talking about having a contest to see who could devour more hotdogs in one sitting. I kinda wish this happened more.

Yeah i have the big bulky Comcast package as well, no NHL network. The only way they will allow me to include NHL Network is if i buy this ABSURDLY priced sports package, which includes all NFL, MLB and NHL and i think some soccer stuff... for something like 700 a year. No thanks. NHL needs to get their act together i can't believe they still operate like a 2 year old organization.

this is pathetic. NHL and its officials should be ashamed of themselves. Then to come out and outright deny any fault on their part is just the worst part about all of this. Im not a conspiracy theorist either... but its hard for me to think this league isn't corrupt when calls like this can actually happen in a playoff game.

highlight of the game imo

i am pretty astounded at this... pitiful

i understand the argument... but i simply can't see this being effective and have a positive impact on the nhl. All this will do is slow down the game, cause MORE frustration, etc. The only thing i agree with is in regards to players wearing facemasks. I think if players fight with masks on they should be fined or suspended or assessed a higher penalty. But otherwise... you simply can't take the fighting out of hockey, its too much a part of it. Everyone here knows its more than just two pissed off guys battling it out... there is a huge team element with fighting and it can be a difference maker for a team. just my thoughts
