Go with McCarty to remind them of this:

Yeah I really hate when a player leads the team in goals every year for 3.9 million....
-
Eh. His shot from the point went off of Kronwall's skate and deflected in for a really lucky goal. I wouldn't say he "owned" us. Real good player, though, and definitely underrated on his team with some of the other bigger name forwards.

We need a YT or a gif of this beautiful hit. I hate NHL.com, have to watch a 35 second advertisement for a 5 second clip.

The game tonight wasn't great from the team as a whole. I really didn't think Franzen looked that bad, though towards the end he (and everyone really) was skating like the Wings were up by four goals. Its hard to look entirely in sync when your best playmaker and best offensive Dman are out. It was an uninspired game and the guys mentioned in the OP didn't play great, but really neither did anyone else. (Except Smith with his Smithwall on Kane and kicking Shaw's ass. )

The iPhone ones are just beyond awesome. Great job! Thanks.

Those are the same lines Babs switched to in the third period last game, and everyone played a lot better afterwards. Injuries or not, this is a winnable game.

I don't think CBJ will ever turn it around. Ever.

WOOW Hodgson goes to Buffalo. Really hope Vancouver's new look screws with their chemistry.

They definitely improved, but I still think the Wings are better when healthy. This is sure to make the STL NASH first round series a lot of fun if that's how the standings end up. -

How do you have any idea what he has been doing today or who he has talked to? People always seem to think Holland can just do anything he wants at any time, as though there aren't 29 other teams and as though those teams just want to make us better without improving themselves. I wouldn't mind another move at the right price but I simply don't understand all the Holland bashing when he has already made some good moves and has one of the best teams in the league. -

Past few days everyone is bringing up the scoring depth, which I simply do not get. We have one of the highest scoring teams in the league and have TEN players with ten or more goals. We get a lot more scoring from the bottom two lines than most other teams get from their 3rd and 4th lines. That is the definition of scoring depth. What we need is not depth scoring, it is high end scoring. It is a top 6 scorer that would help this team, and those players simply aren't available this TDL. -

They are desperate moves because a lot of those teams HAD to make moves. The Sharks and Hawks are disasters right now. The Wings are not. Personally, I'm glad Holland isn't a knee-jerker like some people here want him to be. -

This. Everyone needs to chill out. Just because other teams are making desperate moves doesn't mean the Wings should. -
Holland on TSN right now, saying Smith will definitely get some games.

You couldn't at least post what time in the video it is? As much as you might be SHOCKED to hear this, I actually have little interest in watching 8 minutes of the Canucks right now.

I guess I am in the minority here so I'm sure the negs will follow... but honestly I don't think he is nearly as bad as folks are making out. Sure I would like a few more goals and some more consistency, but he gets bashed around here as though he is a 4th line scrub. He is leading the team in goals for the second straight year. Who makes up for those goals if he is gone? To me his cap hit is extremely reasonable for providing the goals he does, especially if you consider the current market and what players are going for nowadays. A large part of the Wings success at home this season has been due to Franzen. Yes, it would be awesome if he performed better on the road, but you could say that about the entire team right now. People always bring up Hossa>Mule, but honestly Hossa's contract is much worse than Franzen's, and he has had similar issues with health, consistency and is not a big playoff producer. Yes, Franzen plays on Datsyuk's line (not sure why that is a fault against him...), but he has also seen success with other linemates, and still led the team in goals last season despite Datsyuk missing significant time. As someone else mentioned, last year's playoff performance he was badly banged up the entire series, but the previous year he put up 18 points in 12 games against the same two teams. I think Mule is an easy person to point the finger at when everything isn't going perfectly, but really he is doing what he always has done. Even back in his breakout season, he was very streaky with the majority of his points coming in Feb and March, that's just the way it is with him in the regular season, and people seem to expect him to play more like a 7 million dollar player. I guess I just don't see how being on pace for 30 goals is such an awful thing, especially when nobody else on the team will even come close to that. He is not a 50 goal scorer, nor should he be expected to be, and nor does he get paid like one. I don't disagree with everything in the OP, but this is the way I see it. This playoffs will be an important test for him to see where his heart is, especially if he remains healthy and has no excuse.

Finally an effort in the third. I really like the line shakeup, I hope Babs sticks with that for next game. Helm and Miller are the hardest working guys on the team and deserve the second line minutes if it gets the team and Mule going. All the non calls in the final three minutes were terrible, but hardly surprising.

Ok guys the loss wasn't THAT bad. -It took them to the last round of the shootout to beat the Wings. Basically a toss up. -They could barely win even though Datsyuk was out. -One of their goals went off of Kronwall's skate, it wasn't even a shot on net. -The linesmen gifted them an icing call, but those things happens. -Howard was awesome, remember the game could have been tied on that late Booth breakaway. -The third line was awesome, and shows how deep this team will be when fully healthy. Its not the end of the world, the streak was bound to end sometime. Luongo was also really good, he stopped a lot of good chances, and a couple in OT. Now that the pressure is off somewhat, they can go back to business as usual.

Cleary ffs...

Icing call f***s us.
