League really got this one wrong.
-
Have to chug for ten seconds whenever you hear "all you young hockey players out there". Really looking forward to this game, and will be a good test for sure. While the Wings are currently on a nice little win streak, they have hardly been dominant over those games and some of them could have easily gone the other way. As others have said, I want a really solid showing tonight, these guys don't let in too many goals so the Wings can't afford to make many mistakes. Tired of hearing about Malkin so I hope Datsyuk closes in on that scoring race a bit more. Thanks for the GDT, Mike. LGW!

Personally, I thought this hit from the same game was even worse:
-
Blatant knee on knee. No call? wtf
-
To be honest, I'd be pretty pissed if some mascot from an opposing team sprayed me in the face and eyes with that crap while I'm trying to enjoy a hockey game. I dunno if I would have reacted like him, but still that seems pretty inappropriate for the mascot to instigate.

I hate how these games we should win always have me a little nervous. I want a really solid performance for 60 minutes, with no slacking in either the first ten minutes or last ten minutes, as is so often the way. Would love to see Dats get some more points again and keep closing in on the league lead in points. Its just an individual stat and not the most important, but I love that he is quietly in the top 5. LGW!

This is exactly what I believe as well. Could be less than 10 points separating 1 and 8.
-
BERT. Good job boys, f*** you refs.
-
So a guy without a stick.... gets a tripping penalty? Well done, NHL.
-
God awful call.
-
Cannot believe they didn't call the blatant trip on Flip there.
-
Definitely didn't look good. Hopefully just a bruise, but the way he was favoring it makes me think its quite broken. Hope I'm wrong.
-
Wow. Just when you thought CBJ couldn't get any worse. I guess they really really want that first overall pick.

Not sure if you missed it, but last season Datsyuk was injured nearly half the year, and the Wings still managed to end up only ONE goal shy of the league lead in goals on the season. Seems like you are basing your entire argument on the awful Islanders game when we were missing Datsyuk, but that was a single game where every single player was playing awful. Datsyuk playing that night would not have made the difference. As for Sharp, the Hawks have been struggling lately with or without Sharp and are about to head into their toughest stretch of the season. They have like 3 other guys on offense to support him, whereas the Wings already have five players with 10 or more goals and another four players with 9 goals. That's pretty decent support. A complimentary forward would always be welcome, but its not nearly as gloomy as you seem to make it out to be. The Wings are currently third overall in goals/game (first in the conference, ahead of Chicago). Seems like you are paying too much attention to the standings and not enough time watching the games. EDIT: I don't want Pavel to get injured, just saying.

To those attending the game, have a great time! Hoping the boys put on another clinic and get Conklin a solid win. I don't want to get greedy, but I am also hoping for Pavel to put up a few more points tonight and close in on the league lead, the guy is a beauty! 60 minutes, boys, LGW!!!

If we DID trade Stuart, and say, got a forward in return... who would replace him on defense? Just go with Commie/Kindl? Or do we bring Smith up? While I understand the situation, our defense is finally playing really well for the first time in a few seasons, do we want to risk messing that up?

You should hear Eddie on the local Hawks broadcasts. He is OBSESSED with Jimmy Hayes. Won't stop talking about him, it gets a little uncomfortable.
-
That number is actually quite impressive given his brief amount of time in the league. Congrats Jimmy, here's to many more hundreds! :beerbuddy:

Mursak is back!!! Really been looking forward to seeing him be a regular in the lineup ever since he played some games for the Wings last season. Shame Pavs won't be in, but just because the Wings shat the bed last game does not mean they can't win without him. I won't be able to watch this game as I'll be in attendance as the Hawks lose to the Wild tonight. Play hard tonight, LGW!

I wonder if that had anything to do with Kane's several lumberjack chops right to Datsyuk's "groin" in the final seconds of OT.
-
This irrational hatred you have for Conklin is just making you look foolish. He isn't the best goalie in the world, but he is the backup, end of story. No matter how much you continue to incessantly ***** and moan about it, there is absolutely nothing you can do to change it. Really wish Datsyuk was playing, but good that he's resting up and not pushing it. He has been steadily climbing in the league point race, and is now in the top 10. I just want to see a real good effort, and perhaps not playing from behind early in the 1st. Game starts at 7 boys, don't be late this time.

Some of the best parts of the night for me: The Kronwall hit on the rookie. The save on Kane in the last couple seconds of the 3rd. Kane had all day to snipe and he's one of the best at doing that. Huge stop by Conklin who played huge all game. Coming back from behind again. Finding the mute button on my remote. The Datsyuk overtime goal of course.

So freaking happy right now.

Is this confirmed? Haven't seen it anywhere yet. Edit: Found it. Good to see them back in!
