Has anyone noticed what they are doing in Sunrise, FL?
hooon replied to hockey&beer's topic in General
Pretty much looks like the Hawks roster from last year. -
I agree with you. I especially do not appreciate being lied to about it either. Reporting fake injuries, and having entire articles written about fake injuries just shows a complete lack of integrity and honesty. But I think for them they see all the thousands of little kids in Kane jerseys at the United Center and don't want to deal with anything at all scandalous. Just sweep it under the rug.

1. Its ESPN. 2. I've heard this same crap for nearly 20 straight years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BJCxdkoIxc Osgood was a great member of the Wings and a hell of a Hockey player. Its unfair the reputation he has gotten in certain circles of the media and fans. Thanks for all the hard work, Ozzie! Always one of my favorites. You will be missed.

Happy about this personally. He's brought so much to our team already and can be a great mentor for Jimmy. He's still only our number 2 goalie, its not like we're counting on him night in and night out. Also, there literally isn't anyone better out there that we can sign. Hope it is indeed a 1 year contract announced tomorrow, and he has a great final season of an incredible career.

Didn't think I could like Datsyuk more than I already did. But there you go. Good read.

Its pretty much all been said. -STAY HEALTHY, even just relatively healthy. Past 2 seasons have been brutal. -Better play when we have the lead. No more giving up goals late in the third to make it close or lose. -Helm getting more ice time and continuing to work on his hands (and not shooting wide of the net). -Less turnovers, especially at the blueline. -Howard finding more consistency. For the League: -Better reffing. (yeah right) -less head injuries (we all hate Crosby, but I want him back and playing healthy, just to see what he can do) -More national interest in Hockey due to the NFL and NBA debacles.

I did exactly that in the 90s when I was a kid. Rollerblading, tried to do some stupid trick, fell, and tried to catch myself. Broken wrist. Dad told me to "walk it off" so it actually went almost a week before a doctor saw it. But seriously, Kane sucks.

You'd rather have a logo of a bucktoothed rodent set against a urine-colored backdrop? I see the jealousy against the Wings extends beyond just the on-ice stuff, eh?

Happened before he left San Jose. Cheechoo is the definition of a flash in the pan.

Yep. Eddie O is one of the biggest homers in the business. Yet he seems to do every game, including the Hawks on national TV.

Ranking the dumbest ******* articles ever written- This one is up towards the top.

The Eaveas penalty shot was worse.

Pretty competitive. Especially if Bombay was coaching. -
You should know by now that us Wings fans believe that ANYTHING we want, however impossibly unobtainable, is well within our grasp at any given point. And if for some inexplicable reason we don't actually get said player than it must be due to our awful management and a coach that no one wants to play for.

This thread got meaner.

"Let's go sheck their hends!" -
If they sign those three, they will have too many players on their roster. Another trade coming as well? Is Florida's phone ringing?

I might be a bit biased when it comes to them, but I'm not that impressed by the Hawks off season. Bunch of 1 year replacement contracts to generally mediocre players. Grit doesn't replace all the scoring they lost (assuming they don't re-sign Frolik and Stalberg). Crawford had a good year, but IMO is still a question mark. Many, many goalies struggle their second season. And they don't exactly have a reliable backup. I think they'll be right around where they were last season - right on the cusp of the playoffs and a 1st round exit at best. A single long-term injury to one of their CORE guys could be devastating for them. I read a quote a few days ago saying that some of the Hawks players were pretty upset about a lot of the off-season moves. Not sure of the exact quote or context or who said it, though, so take with a grain of salt.

Guy Germaine - inseparable from Connie. Kind of like Kopecky if Connie is Hossa. YES! Terry Hall! That's even a girl's name! He had a girl's voice. All my life, I've never been entirely certain. I still don't fully believe he's a dude. Great thread btw! NOW we're offseasoning! A few others that could be compared: Gordon Bombay - "Coach" McKay - Hans - The Hawks - Coach O'Reilly - Team Iceland - Wolf "The Dentist" Stansson - Gunner Stahl - Charlie's Mom - -
First of all, it was a joke, calm down dude. How you could get so worked up over an obviously facetious comment is beyond me. If Hudler is indeed a Red Wing next season, I want him to do well... that's all. I'd personally prefer he not be a Red Wing next year, but that is hardly up to me. I don't see what is wrong with that. I just want the best team possible. I think its worse to be a poster who is vindictively looking to prove people wrong and takes pleasure in bashing people for sharing a differing opinion than your own.
-
Lol. Find another team then. Your pessimism is downright pathetic.

Getting tired of everyone saying the Wings are soo great at taking lazy players and making them great. Why haven't we done that with Hudler? Why couldn't we do that with Leino, Lang, Williams, etc? People see his moves on youtube and automatically assume he'd be some magical fit with Datsyuk. The guy has been benched nearly half his career, doesn't that tell you something? He is the polar opposite player type that the Wings look for and find success with.
