Ugh, 3-2 Panthers now. Can't ever count the Hawks out.

I'm watching this one as I have it on TV locally. Obviously every win streak must come to an end, but I didn't quite expect this. However, being that they are the Hawks, and this is the Panthers, I am not counting this one as over yet. I have seen the Hawks come back in many games, and the Panthers aren't the most consistent. Montreal Boston is one of the best rivalries in sports, IMO. I love original 6 rivalries that still mean something. Huge for MTL to go up by 2 against a tough as hell Boston team.

I too read it in Pavelese. It took some time to de-translate it, had to jumble up all the sentence structures and add lots of umms, ehmms, erms, and "i feel goo"s.

Didn't Ozzie struggle big time last year? And also Ozzie wasn't too good the year before (in the regular season that is) when Ty Conklin was backup. To me, when MaClellan left the organization is when the goals against started to rise. in 07-08 we had an incredibly low GA number. I just don't like the logic that Ozzie should automatically get the starters job simply because he is somebody other than Jimmy Howard. I don't think its that simple.

We had Todd McClellan still. Also Sammy, Korepecky, and Dmac. I agree with you for the most part though, roster-wise we have plenty of talent, but still, they haven't impressed me enough this season for me to declare a cup win just yet.

Even if it IS an accident, his timing alone should get him a suspension for sheer stupidity. There is no possible way he could have thought that punch would have landed anywhere near Ott given the timing of throwing it.

Agreed. This one always gave me goosebumps. Some of the parodies of the History Will be Made commercials are awesome too.

Laziness, defensive breakdown, bad turnovers, lack of effort, not a full 60 minutes, etc.... Wings blew a 3 goal lead in the 3rd to end up losing in a shootout (both Hudler and Bert hit the post in the shootout). The only positive of the game was Helm scoring the best goal of his career, however that was kind of cancelled out when he made the worst pass of his career which led to a goal against. Heartbreaking game all around, but one of those games that I hope will ultimately lead to the realization that they cannot be carried by their talent on paper and have to actually work hard and do the right things to win in this league.

Hmm. I'm guessing those 2nd and 3rd lines will have pretty even ice time. I like the Hudler Flip Mule line, reminds me of 08.

I'm glad at least when it was 8 games, they chose the 8-legged Octopus to throw instead of SPIDERS. Imagine if the tradition was to hurl a nest of live hairy spiders on to the ice to get the team going. Millions of tiny horrible arachnids scuttling all over the ice and players and benches and fans, trapping Pierre McGuire in a giant web and envenomating him, thus liquefying his innards to feed to the billions of freshly bred spider babies... and as horrible and disgusting as it is to witness.... hey, its tradition. Ooook. Enough of that. Go Wings. We really need a win here. LGW!

I kind of agree. It just seems way too subjective, especially coming from a fan of the team. I'm sure he is doing his best to be as fair as he can, but still, I don't see how this system can really be taken too seriously. Far too many variables and judgement calls. Still interesting numbers though.
