Kindl did look good, pinched at the right times, and his shots actually looked like NHL shots instead of fluttering butterflies lofted gracefully towards the end boards. Something needs to get the Mule going again. Maybe putting him back with Fil?

Yeah honestly this is an overpayment, and really makes the Hjalmersson signing look a little stupid. While Seabrook has been a lot better the past month or so, he was a fat slob to start this season and I can't help but think, like a lot of their players, his numbers and play have been elevated in past seasons by a really strong team around him. Nothing wrong with that, but 5.8 just seems like way too much considering how much they already have tied up in defense. I wonder if a big trade is coming at some point in the off season to unload a contract if they can.

Still a bit of an overpayment considering they just signed Keith and Hjalmersson. Their top 4 guys are all good at their position, but they are all overpaid for what they do, even Keith (depending on the structure of his salary that year, someone said this year hes making 10?). I'm kind of surprised they aren't letting Seabrook go. He would get a lot on the open market, and they really need that extra cap space. Oh well, I never wanted him here anyways. He has been lazy and out of shape for most of this season. That deal isn't the worst in the world, but still an overpayment, IMO.

Not that it was a great fight, but at least he did something. This is about the ONE good thing he did all night. Ericsson seems to ALWAYS make the wrong decision every time the puck or a player with the puck comes near him. The more I see him play like this, the harder it is to believe there isn't someone better.

I kind of wish Mursak would be on the third line in place of Eaves and keep Miller on the 4th. Draper-Helm-Mursak = speed.

I am constantly shocked at what that organization is doing. As others have noted, they were really close, with a ridiculously young and fast team. They reminded me somewhat of the Hawks 2 or 3 seasons ago, I thought they were a couple pieces away from having a contending team again. As Stastny Sr. said, this will set them back years. Just seems so strange that they were already in the midst of a successful rebuild, and then to just start from scratch and rebuild again. I would not be happy if I were an Aves fan or player.

I'd take Getzlaf in a heartbeat, but Nash is a truly elite player, and has never really had a good center to play with in his NHL career.

Very interesting, his numbers aren't even that bad, I guess the flyers are just that deep at forward. I recall a few years ago when he was a FA, a lot of folks on LGW wanted the Wings to take a chance on him for cheap. I agree with others that 2m is too steep for what he has shown so far, but he has too much talent to overlook entirely. Hopefully for his sake he lands on the right team that can help his work ethic and potential. It IS fun to think about him on a line with Pavs, but I don't think it'll ever happen.

Hoping for a good win here today Wings. If they play like they have been lately, I am confident they will get it done. The defense has been good, I want that to keep up! They play some tough teams in the stretch coming up, every win will be important.

Reading that article it doesn't sound at all like Bettman wants the classic in Michigan. Sounded more like his typical pandering and skipping around the actual question. Sounds to me a Michigan reporter asked him the question, and he said exactly what he would say if any other team's reporter asked the same question.
