I do tend to agree about Philly making it though, they are just so stacked at every position. I don't see the Bruins making it all the way, you can't simply rely on goaltending for every game, and Thomas will probably get a little burned out by the spring. A Detroit vs. Vancouver conference final would be a lot of fun to watch.

Guess the Wings will not be getting him in the off season. A true sniper and great goalscorer but 6.7 seems a little high for him, though I guess he would yield a lot on the open market.

You could be right. We all know how talented he can be at times, but what I want to see is sustained success and consistency over an entire season and playoffs, which I definitely think he capable of. He has certainly looked better this season, even with the constant juggling of linemates. I agree with you about confidence, I think its an extremely important attribute in life and in hockey. See Ville Leino last year, Hudler this season, Franzen's emergence as an elite scorer in 08, etc. When you play with and against the best players in the entire world, I can see how players could easily lose confidence in themselves when things aren't going great.

Didn't really see enough of Emmerton to judge, but he didn't commit any obvious blunders and got his goal, even if it was a squeaker. Mursak is FAST. Like... REALLY FAST. I love what I'm seeing from him so far, and can't wait for him to continue to develop. Like others have said, I hope he becomes like Helm but with hands and a shot. The bigger news here is that Pavs and Cleary are going to be back! Good job Wings, staying afloat despite the injuries.

I too thought Kronwall was the next in line, but I think he has pretty much reached his potential. Rafalski I have never thought to be a truly great defensemen, especially at defense. He also makes way too many unforced errors. He is a compliment to Lidstrom, but by no means a replacement. But yeah... there simply is no replacing him. I shudder to think about when he retires, and hope it never happens. I think Stuart could potentially step up as the number 1 guy for a couple of seasons. I dont think they should take Nick's cap space and just fill it with another defensemen, I'd rather they spread the money around and go for more depth signings and then in a few years go after a big D man who is available.

Good news! Hope they are back and healthy and well rested! It just doesn't feel right when Pavs isn't out there for us, I miss watching him.

Yep. It never ceases to amaze me how they could possibly mess this one up. The problem is that there is absolutely nothing that will be done about it because the NHL will never admit even the slightest of wrongdoing, and there is no one for them to answer to. This one is just embarrassing though. It blows my mind that there is so much incompetence at that level of the NHL.

Must be a tough day for him to get that kind of news, but as others have said it could have been worse. Good job by the team doctors to spot it when they did. He is a good young player, its too bad for him.

Getting a lot of conflicting info here... but if all the presented info is true, I just don't see 27 other teams passing on him for that amount of money. I really don't want the Hawks to sign him. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
