hudler helm eaves sounds fun to me as the 4th line. Why not give it a try?

That picture is really awesome. To have to go through an ordeal like that at such a young age is just mind blowing. My thoughts and wishes will be with him as he makes a quick and speedy recovery! Big kudos to Babs and the whole organization for doing something like this, its really huge. These guys are all so busy during the hockey season, for them to take the time to do this is just so awesome. They could have just sent over an autographed stick or something (which still would have been great), but instead they went above and beyond to the fullest extent. Makes me proud to be a Wings fan and a hockey fan. Again, best wishes to your bro, and thanks for posting this story!

I think it was both of them. Also we had one or two guys set to come back from injury after them. Again, not saying it would have been possible, and doubting Kenny is a useless gesture. But wouldn't it just be nice if we had some prospect somewhere in the system that we could show for the Leino trade? Best of luck to Ville, though I really wanted him to work out here. I remember telling my brother before his NHL debut (maybe not first ever debut) that he was going to be someone special to watch. Then he scored that spinorama between the legs goals against the caps and I thought my predictions had come true. Sigh.

Agree with all sentiments so far, and good on ya steve. My only wish is that we could have somehow gotten something more for him in return. I dont really know how trade values work all the time, but if it were at possible, I'd have liked a little more.

I think both of those teams are legit, especially L.A.

Watched most of the Hawks Rangers game. Neither team really impresses me, glad the Rangers got the win.

Ah Helm! That's awesome. Good ol fashioned fun. Thanks for showing!

Wow that is a dramatic overstatement. lol.

Yep. Pretty much all the same programs but for free and legal. No registration yadda yadda.

And I'll bet you and Mindfly are the ones who wrote in the last GDT... "Osgood in? GAURENTEED LOSS"

Questionable? What about this is questionable? Thanks for posting the link but I have to ask... Did you even watch it?
-
Ah, got it.

Yikes.... That would have been outrageous even if it was only a 2 min minor. But another 5 and a game? They HAVE to make game misconducts reviewable, or even only callable by the booth. I don't have an easy answer, but that is just absurd. There is just way too much discretion put in the hands of incompetent decision makers. NHL, please make the rules more black and white.

Umm... what? Are you talking about someone else? Ritola has not played 82 games...

Adam Burish: Chris Pronger Is The Biggest Idiot In The League

wtf, I've been missing out on this epic thread. -
That was SEVEN years ago? Where has my youth gone? wtf. Like you, I missed the game at the time, but luckily I other saw an extensive replay or maybe my brother taped it. Can't say I remember how the score turned out, but that video sure is fun to watch. We had such an awesome group in those years. Thanks for posting!

Yes I watched hockey in the 90s. Look it up. Some of his better years were on the Ducks, not opinion, fact. You expect them to retire Shanny and Feds number? Not gonna happen for either.
-
Completely different teams, teammates and systems. Like I said before, I have no problem with Miller, but he is redundant. We have lots of players who do exactly what he does, and do it better. His potential is peaked, Ritola's isn't. Just sayin.

How does a guy in a fat suit in any way whatsoever prove that taller goalies aren't more effective? There is a MAJOR difference between TALL big and FAT big. There aren't any fat goalies in the NHL, so your discovery channel test is completely useless in this argument. I'm baffled that you could even think its relevant.
-
Didnt say they did. All I said was I like it the other way. Sheesh.
-
Would he make the rafters at the Joe with those credentials? I doubt it. All I'm saying is that I prefer the way the Wings do it, keeping it very exclusive. That guy didn't even finish his career there, had some of his best years on another team entirely.
-
We have still gotten close to 3 times the amount they have. Maaaajor difference in that comparison.
-
Eh, seems like a stretch to me. I know they don't have the kind of history of an original 6 team, but I prefer reserving jersey retirement to the SUPER ELITE players of the league, and of the team, and I just don't think he is on par with history's best. If the wings retired every jersey from players who won 3 cups here, the ceiling at the Joe would be pretty crowded.

Backtracking a bit, but I still don't understand keeping Miller over Ritola, when you already have guys like Eaves, Helm, Abby in the lineup. Miller is and always had been redundant. Not sure I love sitting Hudler... I don't see how that is going to get him going, but I guess you gotta sit one of them. I love Abs, glad that he's in, but I'm not convinced he is going to be the savior of the third line.
