Agreed. For over a year now we've been doing the same thing. Only showing in the last 30 or 40 minutes, or sometimes the opposite where we blow a lead. Sick of it. Gotta play the full 60. Sounds so cliche now because its said every week but its true.

Oilers got pretty lucky on their 4th? goal, ref with a sweet pass That Eberle goal was sweet. Another weak one on Marty. 6-3 oil
-
Say what you will about the Hawks, they are never out of a game. They always seem to find a way to strike back. Hopefully the oil can hold.

Yeah I just don't get the trade Osgood talk. Sure we would all love to have a more stable goalie situation, but Osgood is who we have, and there really is not anyone better available at the moment under the current circumstances. I remember the same sort of play from him last year, let up some soft ones early, get over it and play much better but often too little, too late. I'm actually glad he is getting the start again, you need more than one game to prove yourself, and he is getting the chance. As far as who Abs replaces, I too think it SHOULD be Modano, but don't know if it will. That one hooking penalty he took yesterday and the 19 chances he was unable to finish kinda told me he should see how the wings look from the press box.

lol I was gonna put that too, but I kinda agree with it as well. Just hasn't been the same with in charge.

God, you are dramatic. Nobody 'tore you apart' in that thread (a thread that was made nearly a week BEFORE last night's game), I simply pointed out your dramatic sky-is-falling reaction to Kronwall was a little outlandish. You're still way off, btw. He was playing very well last night before his last minute blunder, generated chances through passing, took a lot of shots, got into the offensive play, etc. Far from our worst player out there. As I pointed out in the other thread, where I apparently so cruelly tore you apart, our defense as a whole has been very lackluster. Two of our d-men are not NHL worthy at the moment, the planned D-pairings have been juggled constantly, and our number 2 guy is out. Between benching Kronwall, the entire 3rd line, Miller, waiving Osgood, we would be a little thin on the bench if our brass listened to knee-jerkers. Sheesh.

lol dude the hawks have played like 4 more games. It was our 2nd loss in regulation, chill out.
-
I think they both look bad. I hope they do something different next year, like Penguins vs. the Penguins.

We haven't made it to the finals since Kopecky left.

This. Hossa added absolutely nothing to their entire run last year that couldn't have been achieved without him. They could have kept Havlat (a playoff beast if I recall) for much cheaper and still have gotten there, had more to spend this year, etc. etc. I'm glad Kenny went with Mule. Younger, as capable of a goal scorer currently, cheaper, better in the playoffs, better nickname, etc. etc.

Luckily the Yotes have struggled with scoring so far.

What would your minus-rating be if LGW still had the minus button. Place your bets. I've got -12.
-
Overpriced or not, Campbell being back will help them big time on the blueline. Keith has been playing over 30 minutes a night and they've looked like a mess defensively. Somehow Turco won it for them last night. Hossa out will hurt, as he has been by far their best player, the only other player who scores for them is Sharp. Somewhere Kopecky is curled up in the corner in a fetal position, sobbing.

Oops. Well... win anyway!
-
LETS GO WINGS! With no Doan, I expect a win.

Yep, and he never gets called, has made a career out of cheating and the refs always favor the wings and kronwall is the dirtiest player in the league and the wings are the yankees and the fans dont know anything and modano screwed dallas over by not coming back and i hate the 2002 team and theyre too old to make the playoffs and bertuzzi is satan and little ceasars is poison and detroit cant sell cars and dr. rahmani sucks at lasik!!1!
-
lol are you making fun of your own thread? Rest up boys!

I'd say it was the lack of game misconducts against chicago... grrr
-
Kinda makes sense to me. I said last week that they should switch Bert and Hudler, which puts Hudler on a productive line and hopefully gets him going, and puts Bert on a struggling line and hopefully helps them get going.
-
Those look decent, I might look into one. For the OP... I got my Datsyuk jersey from Santa
-
I don't see how putting Hudler on the 4th line is going to help his production any. We all know that he is capable of scoring goals, demoting him this early in the season will only hurt his progress. IMO, the 4th line has been doing its job pretty well. We all expected the 3rd line to be producing a lot more by now but I think as long as we are getting wins the roster will stay pretty much the same. Abby will definitely get his chances this season, and quite frankly the fact that we don't need him in the lineup right now is a good thing, because it means we are healthy for once. He'll get his chance, its a good problem to have.

Yep. I'm tired of waiting around for E to be as good as he was for a couple months in 2009. As long as Kindl isn't playing awful, gotta go with him I think. Its unfortunate for E cause his upside could be so high, but considering he hasn't played yet this year, was bad last year, my hopes just aren't that high for him.

I think there needs to be some clarification. In hockey, "cheerleaders" are very different from the pom-pom shaking girls you remember from high school. They are also known as Ice Girls, and for the most part, they simply go around the stands, posing in pictures with people, flinging t-shirts into the stands, etc. I go to a lot of Hawks games in Chicago and they have a team of ice girls. Some of the ice girls primarily do promo stuff in the stands, but the rest of them? They are put to work. They shovel snow on the ice between breaks, and quite frankly, they are good at it. Maybe its just that I can't stand so many other aspects of seeing games in Chicago, but I actually enjoy the ice girls.
