With them throwing so many suspensions around these days, I would have thought an obvious elbow to the head, with multiple angles of video evidence, that actually injured and concussed a player... would be a pretty open and shut case for a game.

I agree. Attacking fans (who seem to be doing nothing wrong whatsoever) is not acceptable. These are paying fans who buy tickets to the game, who ultimately pay the salary of ALL players, including goons like Rypien. I hope Bettman throws the book at him. I can completely understand losing your cool and going after other players, or throwing a tantrum in the locker room... but fans are OFF LIMITS.

Yeah... I switched to baseball myself. Now THERE is a sport! Humble athletes in great shape, fast paced riveting games, honesty and integrity throughout the game! Playing with those two, of course he's getting points. I've watched all the Hawks games so far, and if Kopecky had any talent whatsoever, he could easily have scored another 5 or 6 goals and racked up more points. He has been set up so many times, only to fan on a shot, fall over, get hit, or turn the puck over. Every season for the past few years he has had a one or two week stretch where he puts up points, guess he's getting it out of the way early.

So they have to blow the whistle after 4 minutes? The only part I don't like about it is the fact that they have to stop OT only to restart it again moments later. What if a team is about to score?

Lot of the bigger names have been mentioned so I'll go with some others. Paul Stastny Zherdev, if Babs could get him in line. Owen Nolan-in his prime, coulda fit in nicely with Shanny and Stevie Probably a lot more I can't think of right now.

The key to their playoffs a few years ago was the fact that they went on an insane run in the second half of the season. Halak is key, and can obviously be a difference maker. Ultimately, I just think the west will be too tight again, and I can think of at least 8 teams who are more talented.

Maybe now there will be only 3 or 4 threads about "Our PP Flat out sucks!!1!", instead of 9 or 10

This. Having Miller up on 2 really weakens that line. Miller-Mo-Cleary still sounds pretty good to me, who knows maybe Happy will really get it going on Fils line.

This. With all the complaints about goaltending, Hudler, Z, injuries, the third line, the first line, etc... I believe that our losses have been the result of very poor defensive play. I'm not yet worried. We will pull it together like we always do. Still not convinced about Miller on the 2nd line, but oh well. GO WINGS.

Yeah, its too bad he didn't end up here a few years ago when he had the choice, but at this point I'm not sure we'd really want another reclamation project. I remember the hype about him a couple years ago, and didn't he score a hat trick in his first NHL game? I'm surprised the article says that probably no one will claim him. He has a cheap hit, there are definitely teams who could use him.

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Hudler-Filppula-Bertuzzi Mursak-Modano-Cleary Miller-Helm-Eaves Is what I'd go with. Maybe switching Miller and Mursak if they aren't comfortable giving him 3rd line minutes yet.

Have to agree with this. There is not a season that I remember where Datsyuk hasn't had a slow start. Four games in they have not looked THAT bad, they just haven't really put the puck in the net. I've seen a lot of chances though and a lot of opportunities.
