Yeah. I really think Ozzie is the key to this game. Our team played great tonight, Howard wasn't tested too much but made some saves. Ozzie needs to start his fight for starting job tomorrow night. I wouldn't mind two goalies with 0.00 gaa. Glad Kindl is in, sorry that Big E didn't get much of a chance on that top line, but honestly feel a bit safer with Kindl out there. Will he play with Salei or Lids?

If we had Downy or another enforcer... they would not have been out on the ice with the Datsyuk line, they would not have been out against the Perry line. An enforcer would have changed nothing in this situation. God forbid our "soft euro players" aren't soft.

Yeah, Meech is done with the Wings. Even if we did get rid of Ericsson, we have several other players in line to get that spot, not Meech. He got a lot of crap at times on this board (though Lebda's faults always overshadowed his), but he had moments where really chipped in. I could see him playing for another NHL team at some point, in some kind of similar role to what he had here last year.

I chose Bert to play because last spring when Maltby played in the playoffs, myself and others on this site already said our praise/thanks/goodbyes to Maltby, assuming that would have been his last game. Love ya Malts, but if you're not going to be on the team this year, why would you be in tonight night?

Yeah pretty incredible goal, was waiting for someone to post it here. The young guns they have on that team are scary good. They will be the most fun Oilers team to watch since about 20 years ago.

Agreed. Just as people will predict the Sharks to win the cup every year, people will predict the wings are too old and will slow down. I think their theory is that eventually they will be right. It does get a little annoying reading the same thing, especially when its not even true. The Wings essentially never start a young prospect, most players only get their first time with the Wings in their early 20s, given plenty of time to develop as much as possible. Most other teams do not have this luxury, and are required to start their players at an earlier age, making the average-age stat skewed against the Wings as being old. People argue that our injuries last season were a result of the team's age, yet nearly all of our "old" players were the few that were healthy all season. It was mostly our younger guys who were injured. Let them talk, they say the same thing every year, and have been wrong every year.

This. Hordichuk is barely a hockey player. We already have several players WITH talent who are competing for a 13th spot, there is no possible way a scrub like this ever gets near this org.
