Yeah... doesn't matter what provokes it, if you want to fight a guy, fight him, this kind of bulls*** is just cowardly and classless. Not just the achilles slash, but he tries two slashes to the neck area before that. No room for this stuff in hockey. Its preseason for chrissake. Suspend this kid, please. I have absolutely no respect for people who get so frustrated they resort to this kind of bush league behavior. Pathetic, Cammalleri... you just made my s*** list.

Yeah. Great clean hit, and he engaged the fight. Also why whats his name didn't get an elbowing penalty on Coatzee in that replay they show in that vid. Wings got handles on the scoreboard, but I loved what I saw from the team (didn't see the whole game).

THANK YOU. Yes. We have so many players already that do exactly what miller does, I really want Ritola to play! Sucks if they don't give him the full-time chance he deserves.

Holy no idiotic behind-the-back completely blind passes and one-hand-on-stick behind the net uselessness Batman! -
Agreed. They have looked pretty bad so far in preseason. If they sustain any injuries, or multiple injuries they will be so screwed. All of their top prospects are already plugged into the normal lineup, they literally do not have the cap space nor the talent to bring anyone up in case of injuries. Really curious to see how they deal with that.

I kind of like it. While I do want to see these lines get some actual chemistry going, I'm still in the Ritola camp, so any chance he gets to play is good. Playing on the 2nd line he will have a lot of pressure on him, this is a huge night for him and his career as a Wing. Good luck Ritola, earn a spot!!! You Finns and your goalies. Goalies grow on trees over there. -
I am, but I was banking on it last year too. I like all the little things he does but this season hes really just gotta start scoring. If that 2nd line becomes the legitimate scoring threat that should become, I will be a happy homer.

Jussi Rynnas.... ummm who? LETS GO WINGS! -
I was never able to get used to the aluminum ones, and have never even tried a composite. I've always been curious to try one and see if I can get used to it, but I just can't afford a stick at that price, especially if its more likely to break. Let us know how it goes.

I hope its Ritola instead of Maltby. Otherwise, it'll be nice to finally see what some of these lines can do together in a somewhat normal rotation. I have really high hopes for all three of those top lines. Good to see Kindl get some real minutes too.

Agree, if you have the money and can afford it, go for it. Get to watch games every night. Do you have NHL Network? The only annoying thing is the occasional game on Center Ice gets blacked out if they are showing it on NHLnet. I can't afford it personally, but my dad ordered it for my parents house, its always nice whenever I'm visiting, if I had the extra scratch, I'd get it. As for now, I have to settle for the atrocious streams.

Lets hope this isn't true, as we signed him to a 2 year contract through the 2011-2012 season.
-
Awesome. Good thing I knew about this before drafting him on BOTH of my fantasy teams.
-
I agree he is a better fit on the Flyers. My point to Motown was that at least he was given a chance full time in the Wings lineup. He didn't fit with us, so we moved on. I just don't like the fact that Ritola never gets that chance, a guy who has been in our system for a while, just so we can keep another 4th liner who was claimed off waivers from Tamps, and has peaked in terms of skill.
-
We got swept in the 2nd round last year? Yeah that's a worse list than most Chicago fans would even make.
-
This. The East is so bad in the standings that literally any team can make it into the bottom few spots if they put on a good showing at some point in the season. I definitely think Tampa has all the makings to do well. They had (brief) stints last season where they were really pouring it on, and now under new management, coaching, goaltending, and other new faces, I think they have one of the stronger teams in their notoriously weak division. Stamkos is one of the best in the league, and will likely only improve this year. While I think plenty of those teams CAN make the playoffs, other than the Lightning, I don't think any of them will. Both the Leafs and Oilers have a ton of talent on their teams, but I don't think they can pull it all together. I'll also be curious to see if Phoenix and Colorado can get things going again. I'm skeptical.

If it meant keeping Ritola, then yeah. Just gets me that we would give up a guy that we have had in the system for so long, without even giving him a chance to play. Leino was an unfortunate lost, but he got his chance in the Wings lineup, was terrible, and so we made the only sensible decision at the time (also forced by cap concerns) and let him go. Sure I wish we could have gotten more for him, but there you have it. At least give Ritola a real chance. There is no way he clears waivers.
-
I know, and I think we're on the same page here, but in this case its Miller vs. Ritola. I could be wrong on this, but Draper was signed to a 3 year contract right after the 08 cup run, which was a very strong season for him, where he led the league in faceoffs, had scored about 30 points or so the season before, and was considered one of the best 3rd liners in the league. So I can definitely understand the thought behind signing him at the time, it was only the next two years that his skill and contribution dropped considerably. Maltby, he'll be in GR anyways, so he doesn't really factor in as to weather or not we keep Ritola ( I don't think). I agree with whoever says this could come back to bite us. At least Leino had a chance to prove himself in the lineup, Ritola doesn't even get that luxury.
-
Yeah but how is Miller a vet? He played less than one season for us....
-
Eh, I can't say I like it. Miller is as good as he will ever be, which, really isn't THAT good. We already have a ton of players who do exactly what he deos; Eaves, Helm, Abby, Draper. I'll be honest, I have never seen much of Ritola, but my understanding is that his upside and potential is way higher than Miller's ever will be. I also thought that he was have a strong, hard working preseason. Oh well.
