Cool, I'll be checking these out if I can.
-
This seems more realistic knowing the KHL. Its too bad he had to go, I doubt we'll see him again in the NHL.
-
For whatever its worth, when it came down to it last season, Miller would be healthy scratch over Eaves. I do agree that Eaves is better than Miller, but also agree with the people pointing out the uselessness of the debate overall. Eaves will be back too, as will Helm and Abby. Everyone one will compete for a spot, the better players will make it, the lesser players wont.

Abby did not only play with May and Maltby... in fact those two were not even in the lineup a lot of time. There was a point actually during the season where Abdelkader was our 2nd line center for a couple of weeks because of injuries. He definitely needs to take a step forward in production, which is something he is totally capable of. Any PP time should accelerate that. I wouldn't mind keeping his GR options open, you never know what will happen.

He's better at not being a healthy scratch.

Meh, I think LA would have been a far better fit. But oh well. NJ has some moving to do. It'll be nice to see him on a competitive team for once.
-
Hate to hear this. I feel bad for his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed. The world just got a little less tough.

Best wishes, Bob! Hope everything's ok.

How wont the Wings be the favorites to win the west?

Ah didn't see this yet. -
John Madden made 2.75 million last year for the Hawks. There is no way on earth I'd be willing to pay that much for a 4th liner. Even if he took a huge discount, it would still be too much to pay. Eaves is young, and can do everything that Madden does, sans cups. Miller... well I've said all along that I want him gone. We have like 6 players that do exactly what he does, only better.

I agree the Wings are looking good next year if they can stay healthy. For the few months after the Olympics when we had our actual roster on the ice, we were definitely the best team in the league. San Jose wont be able to dominate the regular season like they usually do without Nabokov. Vancouver is the new SJ in terms of choking in the playoffs. L.A. is the team that worries me the most, ESPECIALLY if they land Kovalchuk. One thing you didn't mention is that we also have the best coach in the league right now. Whether we land Modano or not, we have great depth options for our 3rd and 4th lines. Lets get the season started already! -
Maybe Lebda, for leaving for good.
-
I agree. I would be very happy with this... In fact, I'd be pretty happy if we only got ONE of them.
-
I love seeing those hits from him but... no way is Kronwall anywhere near the top 10 hitters of all time. And Pheneuf? The highlights they show of him are from junior? wtf. No offense to OP or anything, but this list is a complete sham.
-
I think they'd do it if they waived the ShoWare 3 on 3 basketball event clause. Imagine if Bosh and Wade signed too. That'd be one hell of a ShoWare 3 on 3 basketball tourney squad.
-
I think the Flyers are going for a 22 man roster comprised ENTIRELY of goaltenders. Interesting strategy, but they could be on to something.
-
I think they have a good chance at the playoffs next season. The east is absurdly weak. You really only need to be barely above .500 to make the post season in the east, I think they have as good a roster as most teams out there.
-
I'd love him here. Is it possible to sign a 3rd pairing defensemen who is a mean SOB, instead of a 4th line forward SOB? This way we have a spot for Mike.
-
This makes the Modano thing seem more likely.
-
jeez islanders are busy today.
-
If its a two way where he simply stays in form down in GR, id be all for it. Malts could provide some good leadership for those guys, and he fills in alright if we have any injuries. Konopka is really the only 4th liner I like who is still available (if he is), but if we couldn't get that grit signed on the 4th line, perhaps whoever we sign as the 3rd pairing D can fill that role instead.
-
No thanks. He made 2.75 million last year.
-
Ha, interesting. I am still in the Modano camp. I think a third line with him between Cleary and Hudler would be awesome.
