I agree with the Nucks just being another overhyped choke team like the Sharks. I also agree that LA will be one of the stronger teams in the west, especially if they get Kovalchuk. I think Quick is underrated. I also think the Wings will be one of the toughest teams in the league if they can stay healthy!

Yeah I hope for the best for Stevie in Tampa, but the San Jose thing is really puzzling. Huge mistake in not making it a priority to re-sign Nabakov, imo. He is a rare breed of goalie in the NHL.

Not sure who you are quoting there... And we DID keep Hudler... kinda. Anyone with sense knew that Hossa was gone. Sammy was a loss, but honestly no one really missed him at the time, it wasn't until he had a career year that people started to really miss him. The bigger loss last year was Franzen and other injuries. I think we did pretty well considered. Lets see if the Hawks can do it too. Imagine if THEY get hit with a few injuries next year, lol.

Funny how after the olympic break when we had our full lineup healthy we had the highest win % of any team in the league.

That wasn't because of the players we lost in the off season (Abdelkader was our 2nd line center for a while). It was because of the injuries we sustained. The latter half of the season when we had an actually healthy lineup we were the best team in the league.

I agree. The only reason I think it would be good is if they sign him an expect to trade him for something when they need him.

I'd still like to keep him. There really aren't many great options available to replace him. Totally understand his concerns though. I want to see Kindl get some games, but I love having someone big and mean down there. I think there are lots of teams that would want a player like Lilja, but as Carman said those injuries will make it interesting to see what kind of numbers get tossed at him.

Meech had a couple hard working games for us last year... but I think its time he leaves. Its just a QO, it doesn't mean the Wings will sign him or that they even want to. It'd be cool if we could package some assets and do a trade?

Last year when our team was finally healthy after the Olympic break, the Wings were the best team in the league.
