I think the Kings will be about as good as they were this past season, with the added benefit of some experience and maybe a good free agent pickup. I'm excited to see what the lightening to do, they have a ton of talent on that team, I'll be curious to see if they can finally use some of it under Stevie's reign. I agree, the wings will be good, but they always are! I don't think the Aves or Yotes will have as good of seasons next year.

I'll play too, I'm not driving. I wouldn't mind seeing something like: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Hudler-Flip-Franzen Bertuzzi-Helm-Cleary Eaves-Abby-??? Draper/Ritola

I've never hated Pronger as much as others do, I've always thought he had a pretty great sense of humor. Sure I hate it when the Wings play against him, but the guy is one of the best. I loved the comments, they were spot on. Burish really shouldn't be saying that right AFTER the series. If anything, say it before or during the series, pretty cowardly to call a guy out right after you know you wont play him again for a very long time, maybe ever.

How many seasons in a row do we have to 'expect' a bigger year from Filpula and Cleary? Hopefully we can stay far more injury free this season. With Hudler being back, I'm hoping for so better offense, especially on the pp.

Lol at people who still defend these actions. Pathetic. Having good fun? Nothing says fun like getting arrested for theft and battery! Btw him not getting sentenced doesn't mean he didnt do it. Luckily he is able to afford expensive lawyers and settle out of court, which is essentially the legal version of a bribe. There was never any doubt that he DID in fact do it, hes just a rich athlete, thats why he wasn't sentenced. But as you say... it was just good fun!

Where HAVE all the Crosby threads gone? Its getting eerie around here without them.

I remember this, it was originally posted by a pens fan on a pens board about how ozzie was 'the hugest ******* ever' cause he wouldn't sign an autograph or something. And then the poster "claiming" to be oz came on and said this would be his only post, but it was a good one, basically shooting down any argument the dumb pens fan had, and saying that he was asked to sign something DURING DINNER while on vacation lol and said no.

I didn't think the comments were funny at all. So now that he's a cup winner its okay to joke about how he beat the s*** out of an old man over 20 cents? I'm all good with people poking fun at themselves and having a laugh, but he isn't make fun of himself hes simply making light of the situation, almost like he's bragging about it. The Chicago fans are stupid and impressionable enough as it is, they don't need to be egged on.

I was looking at the hawks cap situation yesterday... they are honestly more screwed than I could have ever hoped. Assuming no one buys out Campbell and Huet's contract, they literally have NO room to sign their remaining roster spots. It's gonna take a big trade or two just to clear enough room to fill out their roster. Even though the Wings offseason is shaping up to be a boring one, we all know it'll still be really exciting to watch the Hawks dismantle.

I returned to ice hockey in my senior of highschool after several years off. When I had played before I was always the biggest, toughest kid on the ice. I got out there my very first shift and felt great... not rusty at all. The other team made a suicide pass to a tiny little kid on the wing. It was the perfect set up for a Kronwall type of monster hit from me. I had him completely in my sights, I even felt bad for him a little bit, but went in for the kill anyway. I seriously had a good 40 pounds on this kid and I put EVERYTHING I had into that hit... Next thing I know I'm sprawled out on my back looking up at the ceiling of the rink. The other team's bench was cheering and jeering and I barely managed to get up and crawl back to the bench where the coach sat me for most of the rest of the game. That was the end of my hockey career.

Someone should put together a compilation of all the times he gets leveled. I realize that would take some time to edit, and would probably be longer than the extended edition of Lawrence of Arabia, but it'd be a good compilation nonetheless.

Okay to be fair... today wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Not much gloating, not much celebrating, at least from the folks I was around... Could it be that their fanbase has already moved on? Hey they might get Lebron James!

Okay, the parade doesn't go by my building afterall! Hooray, now THAT'S a reason to celebrate. Sorry about your commute though. I still can't decide if I want to go check out the parade or not. There might be beer...

Well said but.... in our defense... Those of us complaining here are the Wings fans that actually live in Chicago. If you haven't been here in the past few months (especially living here) than you have nooo idea how bad these fans really are. Of everyone I know in Chicago, there is only ONE person who is a true Hawks fan, and he suffered right there with them several years ago, and I'm happy for him. But as for everyone else, they've been talking for so long (if you can call 6 months a long time) about how 'deserving' they all are of a cup, talking for months as though they had already won it, etc. More irritating than the unfounded arrogance is the overall ignorance and lack of knowledge. I know you have to start somewhere, but it isn't hard to learn the game and players if you actually are watching the sport. The other day I was talking to a guy on the train wearing a brand new hawks hat. He was telling me how he'd "just DIE" if the Hawks didn't win. I asked him how long he's been a Hawks fan, he said his 'whole life'. I didn't believe him for a second and asked him to name me SEVEN players on his team. He could name four and former coach. That is just one small example of what we here in Chicago have had to endure, and I fear it is only a taste of what is yet to come. For a while I was very proud to live right on Michigan Avenue, great view, great restaurants, park right there, lake close by.... Tomorrow its gonna be kinda obnoxious. /Rant. Congrats Hawks. Also to the last poster.... I would NOT say its 50/50 between the fans and the morons. I'd say more like 10/90. Not kidding.

PLEASE PHILLY. I do NOT want to have endure hooting and hollering in the streets tonight. Its been bad enough here as it is.

Impossible to decide whether or not he should be traded if you don't include WHO HE WOULD BE TRADED FOR. That's the thing about trades... is they go both ways.

Love you Vladdy. Great thread.

I just look at what Philly was able to do to Boston, and I'm fairly confident that they can pull it off. Go Flyers!
-
Surely there must be something in between Great and Bust. There are more than just great and terrible players in this league.

Which defunct team would you like to see make a comeback?
hooon replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
Its a tough market because it basically right on the line between NY and Boston. The Whalers were never really able to find a market being sandwiched between two original 6 teams. There have been several attempts to get a team back in Hartford, but I don't see it happening. There are other markets that have a lot more potential value. -

Definitely the Whale. I grew up in CT and my first NHL games were always in Hartford. It was a great place to see a game, and they even had some good players. -
Lol at that Pronger pick. Go Flyers! I want a 7 game series, I'm not ready for 3 months of no hockey.

I agree with this. They really SHOULD have won game 1. The fact that the Hawks let in 5 goals in that game shows that they are far from invincible.
