When are people going to learn to be quiet at a hockey game, all that cheering is so distracting I miss part of the game. And all those lights, and the flashing lighted banners make me miss so much of the game it's unreal. Did you know they show what's happening on the ice up on the scoreboard. I must miss twelve seconds of every game switching between the scoreboard and the ice. When will all this madness stop? In case you didn't realize it, this was written with a touch of sarcasm. Your concentration issues are just that...yours. You are not the superfan you claim to be. If you were, a few seconds of a person in your way would not be that distracting to you. Move your head a little bit to see around people. That shouldn't be too hard unless it is a medical condition preventing it. If that is the case, then I offer a sincere apology as no offense was intended here.

Dude...you're reaching. When I first read the post, I was thinking that you had a gripe, you wanted to let it out, share with others. You wanted to see if anyone shares your views. That's fine. You got some replies supporting you and that's fine, too. Every post with a view that does not totally support yours is met with ridicule and disdain. Big surprise. Now you just sound like a spoiled ten year old and you are going to take your ball, or puck, and go home. If these problems are so bad that you can't enjoy a hockey game, don't go. It's easier than getting 17,000 people to do exactly what you want for a couple of hours. If you still want to go watch hockey, I suggest you build a bridge...and get over it!

Yes. Totally clueless as to why you are so uptight about this. I agree, it can get annoying, but you can't dictate what people do. They will get to the arena when they get there. That's it. Sometimes ushers are busy. Like I asked earlier...Did you offer help to any of these people? I doubt it, because I'm guessing you can't be bothered with people who have not learned the layout of the Joe before showing up for the first time. By the way, the city of Detroit being nicknamed Hockeytown has very little to do with your passive aggressiveness towards so-called "non fans". You don't know where these people come from, and you know absolutely nothing else about them...except for the fact that they stand up, and operate on a schedule that differs from yours. If you want respect, you should give respect. Maybe you need to respect the comfort, needs and schedules of the people around you.

People paid their money for their ticket, so when they get there or when they leave, is their choice. I get the feeling you are not seeing thousands of people all doing these things. I also get the feeling you are not seeing one person doing all of these things. Thousands of people in one place will make you see lots of different situations. You can't attribute all of your issues to one person or thousands of people. Maybe a few people have the scoots, so they have to go to the bathroom right now. Maybe some don't have the luxury of getting off work early to go to a hockey game. Some may have to get the babysitter home by a certain time. How many of those that can't find their seat have never been to JLA, have you offered to help them? Just smile at the people around you, and say hello. They paid good money to see a hockey game, not get criticized because they don't operate on your schedule with your experience. They are fans. Maybe, some of them are not Red Wing fans, but fans of the opposing team. Nevertheless, they are fans of a great game that we all appreciate and watch with our own level of intensity. What's next...the people who don't jump and scream when a goal is scored, but just clap and maybe throw their hands in the air? At home watching a game, I get right into it, yelling and screaming, cheering wildly. But at an arena, I'm more subdued, as I don't like to draw attention to myself.
