No. If great players "find a way to get it done" then no team would ever win since their 'great players' would always be finding ways. There always has to be a winner and a loser. There are things that you cannot control. It's not like he isn't trying - he is and it's obvious on the ice. Some things can't be explained. We only see one side of the story, as fans, which is their play on the ice. If he was lazy and floating around the ice and not producing well thats one thing; but he is doing EVERYthing right except adding to his point totals. I'm so sick of people (not necessarily you) who post here about how players are supposed to be so perfect all the time. They are human, they get in ruts, other teams actually shut down your offense - we have to respect that. I find it interesting how many people try to be Mike Babcock and Kenny Holland on this forum but in reality they would not last one minute in the real hockey world. It's the same people who game in and game out criticize players like drake last year before the playoffs, like ozzy, cleary earlier this year, lilja last year, and now hossa, datsyuk...the list goes on and on. Sometimes I hope (oh noes! jinx!!) that we have a few years where we get beat BAD and don't make the playoffs - just so some of these "fans" who think they know so much about hockey would just go away. These people are the real bandwagoners. sorry for the rant.

I notice that too. I'm Canadian and a lot of people here (from what I see) shoot left. Everytime I watch team USA it seems that shooting right is by far the most popular.

Agreed. Getzlaf 6'3" 221lbs Perry 6'3" 209 lbs Pronger 6'6" 220 lbs Lids 6'2" 190 lbs do people seriously think lidstrom should have got involved? Rediculous

It seems like there is a lot of bias on this topic...it is easy to tell who are ovechkin haters/fans. It seems like if you aren't a fan you will look for information to support you point and vice versa. I'm not a fan of ovi but he's a great player. I've watched that video many times now and tried slowing it down. He was going in for the big hit, the Gonch dodged it and Ovi did not. He had, IMO, no time to move his leg at all. its like a fraction of a second and when you're lining up for a hit like that its not like "i wonder if i should pull my knee to the side" goes through there mind. The tripping call I would say is warranted because of ovi's carelessness with his hit which caused a trip. BUT those who say he deserved a major....really?? I think the trip is fine and no suspension is necessary...he went for a big hit not to injure him. It only looked worse because gonchar got out of the way and also was off balance. On a separate note...I just went to www.detroitredwings.com for the first time in a while with full volume on and Datsyuk absolutely scared the hell out of me!

why don't they put dats on the right wing:(

For me, I could care less who is captain. If it's dats great, if it's Z great, if it's someone else on this team great. The captain is there to motivate, sure, but you don't think the other guys in the room ALSO motivate? There are soo many great players on this team that the C is essentially there so the press know who to interview a little more, and who can talk a little more to the refs. I don't care even if kopecky friggin gets C (basically I'm saying the C on the jersey doesn't matter when you have a team this good, with this much skill, this much leadership already, and this much experience...not just the players but the whole organization) I'm not even going to comment on the "*******" debate here. The rational people on here know its not true, and besides...what's wrong with *******? I like them....

Hello all, I apologize in advance for the length of this post, but I wanted to provide as much info as I could. I purchased 9 jerseys from Jack and jerseys-nhl.com. I was skeptical but after seeing the pictures on here and hearing the stories from everyone I decided to go for it. I ordered Winter Classic - 2 Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Red Wings Home - Zetterberg Bruins - bergeron Montreal - Price, Komisarik Avalanche - Sakic Washington - Ovechkin (for my friends, only one for me) You can see a few of the pics of the jerseys here (some closeups for the stitching)---> http://picasaweb.google.com/rolexosborne/J...feat=directlink As for dealing with Jack: - A negative aspect was that I asked for a Home Red Wings Zetteberg jersey, but was sent the winter classic one. Luckily my friend did not care because he loved how the WC one looked - It appears that more than one person uses the email on the contact site - Jack always signs his emails with "-Jack" so I would only reply to those. - The jerseys were $45 US, so with the conversion at the time of payment it was $58 CAD including 6 day shipping - I initially was going to send them to the states (a friend) and have them "ship" them to me in Canada to avoid certain customs fees from goods. - After many email exchanges, I wrote a clearly worded email stating to send the jerseys to the following address (US one) and NOT to send it to my paypal address (canada). I guess there was a breakdown in the English translation, because he sent it to my paypal address which had me worried about customs fees. -On the bright side, the jerseys were folded and put in a clear plastic package, they were then wrapped in a black packing tape followed by a yellow packing tape. So they arrived at my house in one giant ball. There was a slip of paper that said "gift" on it with no indication of pricing, so, I avoided any possible customs fees (thankfully!) - I sent the payment on Feb. 19th through paypal via my bank account (no credit card) and it cleared my bank on March 2nd, I received the jerseys on March 3rd. I was impressed with the quickness of their arrival, I was expecting to wait another 6-7 days (that's how long it takes to ship) AFTER the payment cleared. I suppose he sent me the jerseys *in trust* that I wouldn't suddenly cancel the payment before it cleared (if that's possible lol) I have to say I am VERY impressed with the jersey quality, for less than a 1/4 of the price of a "real" one I am amazed. The only comparison I have is a CCM plain red wings white home jersey from 1999. These are a lighter material but still impressed. They have sizes 48,50,52, and 54. I ordered all 50's. The Sakic jersey has the "dress shirt" cut and is longer than the others. I found the size 50 to be a little bit large on me. The arm length was perfect but it was a little big around me. I am 6'2" 185 if that helps, and I have slightly longer arms. Its the perfect size if you play and it will fit under your equipment (at least for me). Also, with the Sakic Jersey, it was made of a slightly thinner material, as you can see from the pic you can see in the pic (ie fight strap semi visible and the back of the logo visible...makes sense if you see the pic). But the friend I got it for loves it so no complaints there. One final thing, since the beginning of march he has sent me 2 emails regarding stock updates since I asked when Schenn would be available (I have many friends asking me). If you have any questions or doubts juts send me a PM and once again just check out the pics. I've had many people compliment the jersey (I have the Datsyuk winter classic)! -Oz

there's a lot of vengeful people here! I like fights as much as the next guy, but I think a good clean hit from Stuart (or Datsyuk ) would be fine. Theres no need to go beat up on an old man who's already paid the price for the draper hit. It was ten years ago, we need to stop living in the past and not worry or even care about this guy anymore. (note: I am not a claude fan)

If I'm not mistaken, Ottawa traded away San Jose's first round pick. They still have their own 1st round available no?

YES! Class is making me sleepy. (PS the factory farm cows, at least the ones I've been to/been in the design process of in Ontario [about 150], the cows there aren't chained up, and most of of them are also robotically milked ie they roam around and when they feel they need to be milked, they go to the milker themselves because they know they get a treat during it. I suppose there's always extremes though! But this is another topic for another time.) TPBM wants to sleep longer.
-
when I played goalie in peewee hockey I could, definately not now! Cows really enjoy being milked, its agony for them if they aren't milked! TPBM hates chocolate ()

I didn't say it was the right decision, I'm just trying to justify what Babcock is thinking. And by big head I mean maybe Babcock is keeping the youngsters in check because he doesn't want them to have a sense of entitlement? I don't know Who knows. There must be a good reason. Let's blame bettman:)
-
I usually agree with babcocks decisions. I think he's doing it so Leino doesn't get a "big head" I mean he scored a sweet goal in his first game, has 2 points, +2. Maybe Mike just wants to let him know he has to earn his stripes; that it wont' just be handed to him. And I sort of agree that you can't scratch Kope and replace him with Leino since they have different roles.

I intend on ordering a few Jersey's from Jack @ jerseys-nhl.com I will post some good pics when they come in. (Datsyuk WC, Zetterberg, Price, Ovechkin, maybe Sakic and Thornton)
