The more I think about the Helm signing, the more it pisses me off. It stinks of another of Holland's 'sentimental signings'. We didn't need him with both AA and Mantha being ready, and the only guys that don't have contracts right now for next year are Miller, Ott, and Vanek. I hope Vanek has a good year, but if he does, it will only encourage Holland to hand him some ridiculous contract that will clog up our forward lines even more and further stifle the development of our supposed 'youth movement'.

Now, now, it's way too early to start making sense. It'll take management at least 10 games before they realize Miller is useless, another 10 ten to admit it by benching him, which of course by then will be too late. I feel sorry for AA and Mantha, although he at least is getting to play instead of sitting in a press box while his lightning fast legs atrophy until he's as useless as Miller. Yeah I'm bummed about this game alright....

That's what I'm afraid of. Many of us are expecting Holland to at least do ONE thing this off-season to shake things up, but the more I think about it, the less likely it is I think he'll get anything done. We'll get stuck with Datsyuk's contract, stuck with Howard, fail to acquire a top D-man or impact forward, the sky will fall, etc. Hopefully I'm wrong....

Tampa should get shredded by their next opponent if there's one thing the Wings are good at it, it's making other teams think they're better than they actually are hoping for some positive change in the off-season, but if Holland is still in charge I have doubts

He does. There's a reason he was the very last player selected in his draft year, but Holland and co. just can't accept that he never should've been given the responsibilities of a top 4 d-man in this league. He simply doesn't have the skills to handle it, let alone on a night-in, night-out basis. But, like the rest of us already know, he'll be right back out there next game with not so much as a 'Hey Ericsson, would you mind not sucking it up tonight?' from the coaches. I wish we would cut our losses and buy him out(as painful as that would be from a cap hit standpoint) and use some of that money towards something useful, like trying to get an honest to goodness #1 d-man
