OMG, that game was sooo intense. Matt Cooke buzzing around hitting anything that moves.. Oprik being the board warrior he is.. Just an intense game. My philly team looks doomed though.

There Defense doesn't scare me.. There 3rd/4th lines on the other hand do. Chimera-Peca-Modin.. Modin Is a big body who is capable of using it.. Peca/Chimera are physical forces.. Overall tons of experience on those two lines. Oozzes with Grit and hardwork.. Going against Cleary - Filppula - Hudler.. Torres-Williams-Boll.. against Maltby-Helm-Kopecky, I dont know about you.. But i think Columbus has an overwhelming better 4th line. But at the same time, There 1st two lines are nothing special.. compared to ours, We should be able to run laps.. AS long as our team plays with some dang heart..

You dont NEED a guy like Downey in the roster everygame, or the 51/52 he played last year. But, It would be great for the team to have a guy like a Carcillo,Eager or Voros who can play the game and drop the mitts when needed be for hte 82 games.. Then maybe have a legit enforcer on the back burners. Kind of like the way Ottawa used Brian McGrattan. sparingly. That is my 0.02$, Zette has been on record on how he feels bout Downey/Fights. and He's in favor of it.

Good for Edmonton.. It was only a matter of time before MacT was gone.. Hopefully this doesn't mean Edmontons toughness goes down as well though.. Storts,MacInt,Strud and so on.. They were a relative fun team to watch.

I'll be the first to admit im not the biggest Leino fan. I'd prefer Abdelkader over Leino, Expecially during this playoff run. BUT, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Val-Hudler-Leino has all the makings for an explosive offensive line.. But also has the makings for a devastating defensive collapse. EXPECIALLY against Columbus.. Where Malhota/Torress are big bodies and can easily push past these guys. Hudler/Leino are not exactly defensive specialist. Im hesitant, But whatever. I'll take what i can get. I guess it's better then Hartigan

As long as Cleary and Draper's injuries are not for an extended period of time, I have no problem seeing Leino in the postseason.

OR, they put Kopecky on the 3rd, because they think they'll have Cleary back, and they are just keeping the 4th line in-tact so they build up some chemistry before the game

I disagree. Kopecky has more upside and is better offensivly.. So he fits the 3rd line role better then what Malts would.. But when it comes to being a 4th liner player. Maltby is better. You look at the Winter Classic, Who sat out? It was Kopecky. Odds are, He'll be splitting it with Drapes/Helm on the 3rd throughout the game Babcock said to Pierre on Sunday, That Playoff season is the real hockey season for guys like Drapes and Malts.. - That might be me trying to justify why i dont want Kopecky playing in the playoffs over Maltby though.

yah Helm and Leino COULD take Clearys place. But neither can do what Cleary does.. and brings to the team

Kopecky,Malts, Draper I think they'll give Helm to GR until they get tossed.. They will treat the Core players the way they did last year.. Until someone makes to many mistakes.. Like Hartigan did last year.. Helm will come in once Kopecky stops playing with any heart. Last game Babcock said that playoffs is Maltby,Osgood,Draper time of the season.. So that really hints torwards he trusts Maltby in the playoffs.. Also i wouldn't be SHOCKED if Helm started over Kopecky, Since Kopecky has barely any Playoff experience and Helm has the run last year.

If you think you can replace Cleary with a Kopecky then your mentaly ill. Cleary has skill, He has heart, he's a tremendous forechecker.. There is a reason he is on the PP when Homer or Franzen are out.. There is a reason he's seen more 2nd line action then 3rd line action this year.. Keep in mind, Cleary is a grind it out type player, who for the past 3 years has had 40 points. the last 2 before this being 20:20 years.. He outplayed everyone in the Calgary series two years back. has had a positive +/- 3 years running.. For playing a wreckless grinding game, he takes very few penalties thoughout a season. He seeked redemption on that RW Villan Pronger.. If he was a streaky player, then yah dump his salary.. But he is reliable player for us.. What bad does he do? The only knock is that he isn't a pure goal scorer. But he gets chances. and He's going to be great on the 3rd line.. When the top 2 lines cancel eachother out.. Last time i checked a 20:20 player isn't usualy found at a 1m a year salary like you seem to think
