In the playoffs, it doesn't matter as much. Because our 4th line will be fine.. Just how everyone was on Drakes jock all last year, like they are Malts and Kopecky... I think both will have an impressive offseason. Our Defense.. As much as i want to call BS.. Why isn't it feasible? We know? our goal tending is shot.. After actually looking at it, Theres no chance for either, without making our team look horrible. I dont see us trading with Anaheim, but who knows.. They are starving for a potential top line center. *Weight,Morrison* by trading Giggy, and getting lets say Filppula. Then the problem lies with finding a way to move 3m in cap. which could be done.. Malts, Draper, Sammy.. Then you have a problem with being minus 4 forwards.. So you can basically cancel out this trade, because it just has ZERO chance of happening Toskala.. He's doing better then Ozzie/Conks on a horrible team Toronto team.. So throw Filppula and Sammy *Cap reasons only* for Toskala and Prospect.. But is giving away Sammy, who is producing points, and Filppula who still might emerge as a solid scoring line center.. for a 31 Year old Goalie who isn't exactly the most proven goaltender. You have any idea how dominant a 4th line of Neil - Helm - Abdelkader would be? i would be sooooo syked if that was the case.. Helm,Abs are skilled forwards who can bang, Neil at one point was a solid 3rd line winger, but since McGrattan left Ottawa has became basically there go to tough guy.. It's not like Holland/Babs are blind. they are just in a sticky situation. and its hard to make moves when theres no wiggle room with your cap.. Could they just be waiting for the trade deadline before making any re-constructive surgery to our sad 4th line? Maybe a waiving or two of our used to be prized grind liners? They've already said they dont want to be playing the top guys in the A, 5-6 minutes a game in the N, they'd rather them getting playing time.. So im going to guess that after the trade deadline, our playoff team will start to shape up. We've yet to find lines that click.. is one of the main problems. We get caught deep in the offensive zone alot, Which puts added pressure onto our D and Goaltending.. Which leads to more goals. We need more Meat and Potatoes and less fancy pants stuff.. Pucks on net, get the rebounds. put them back on net.. We need intensity out of our team.. If your not putting pucks on net, You need to be playing good defense, tight stick/body checks. I've said it before on different boards, Datsyuk will make anyone better because he's the perfect mix of pass:shoot, he has great vision. Zette, Isn't the same, He shoots.. and shoots.. He hasn't made his linemates better, the way dats can. Got to find out a way to get Val going, If we cant do it by the trade deadline, I'd almost think about putting him on the market. He does nothing that guys like Helm/Abdelkader cant do. Only thing he has going is his playoff experience. Overall, we just need to win.
