Red Wings announce provisional Summer Development Camp roster
xBrave_Heartx replied to uk_redwing's topic in General
i have higher hopes for oslund -
I'd love for Detroit to get Moen for the 3rd line, Bell for the 4th line and Roy as the 13th forward.. That would mean no Huds or Leino, So i'd take Moen(1)/Bell(2) and then Roy. But that is all wishful thinking. I could seriously see Detroit taking a good hard long look at Dean McCammond though, He's a wiley vet who would fit in perfectly. I also wouldn't mind Peca for our 4th line with Drapes and Malts. Obviously it wouldn't be exciting at all. But Peca is a veteran who is good on faceoffs and plays a good 2-way game. If an injury happens, he wouldn't be overwhelmed with more ice time like a youngster would. With that said, I'am also very content with Abdelkader. Sadly, He's the only GR player i think is even close to ready. Ritola is garbage imo.

What kind or Shape for Next Years FA market?
xBrave_Heartx replied to Hank Dats 'N Homer's topic in General
Nick will take a pay cut. Homer will retire or be forced out Andreas will be gone. Kirk will retire or be forced to take a major paycut Justin will get a decent 1.2m contract Lebda will re-sign for about hte same or move on. Helm will get a decent 1.2m contract Meech will re-sign for minimum, or will move on. Overall i dont foresee any problems. -
Some players i think Detroit will take a look at, not necessarily sign, but might offer a contract or have a convo with are. PJ Axelsson - Older Swede, Alot of new faces in Boston. Could be put on the Helm/Cleary line, Or the Drapes/Malts line. And Do relativly well. Also his brother is still within our system. That might entice him a little. Dean McAmmond - Great speed, Tons of heart. Not the most durable of players, But the speed and head aches that Dean and Darren could create. That alone gives me the jitters Blair Betts - Rumored for us to be interested in him at deadline. Now he's available for us in FA. He would offer us a 4th line center, And would make it possible to move Draper up to the third line wing role instead of 4th line center. Todd Marchant - I think we saw how dominant Todd is defensively this past offseason, If we could get him to take a relatively length pay cut compared to his last contract, He'd be a stellar fit. Michael Peca - Old Edge Veteran, Lost a step or two, But would compliment Draper and Malts well. Stephane Veilleux - Would come cheap enough to play 3rd or 4th line minutes. A very unselfish player. Not the most offensive gifted or physically emposing, but i think he'd fit in well in detroit. Travis Moen - He would fill a huge gap in our team, and thats toughness. No he isn't an enforcer but if he can fight at the right times 5-6 times a year for us, He would instantly be worth the money. Ontop of having relatively good feet and solid hockey sense, He's worth it. Physically emposing, The whole reason why we signed Randal Gelech was because we wanted him to be a Moen player, Well nows our change to get Moen. Taylor Pyatt - Stuck in vancouver where alot of pressure was put on his shoulders. In Detroit he wouldn't be forced into situations. or forced to play above what he can be. He would be a solid 3rd line player who can be moved up to a scoring line. We lost some size, He could bring some size. Not overly physical, But can stick up for himself. - Notable Enforcers Still Left - .Brian McGrattan .Andre Roy .Brad May .Tom Kostopolous .Andrew Peters .Josh Gratton

Find a team he wants to go to.. Then trade him for whatever you can get.. At this point, hes an addition by subtraction.
-
Val - Dats - Holmstrom Hudler - Zette - Franzen Moen - Helm - Cleary Bell - Draper - Maltby Roy Lids - Raffi Kronner - Stuart Lilja - Ericsson Lebda Ozzie Howard

My hate for Laraque is huge, but if he became a wing. I'd give him my undivided attention. I wouldn't mind him, but i think we could get a better enforcer for league minimum, and we wouldn't have to deal with the Media attention that laraque gets or his Glass Groin. Artyukhin would be solid, But he wouldn't be our answer to our enforcer woes.. He'd give our 3rd line some juice though, He's a hitter for sure.. He can destroy people. Helm and Arty. throw in Cleary. You've got yourself quite a fearsome 3rd line.. I'd rather go the Moen route though. Moen - Helm - Cleary, North American.. 3 Grinders.. Man.

He's gone in the sense that he isn't coming back.. But not gone in the sense that he hasn't signed anywhere

Wings gave Rich Winters Permission to talk to other teams a week ago

Not getting anything in return isn't bothersome, Gratz to keeping it classy Detroit. -
Ooooh, The Koivu bro's playing together. i like that.
-
Laraque is a joke! If he isn't out with a Groin Injury, Then he's doing nothing worthwhile. He's a great fighter dont get me wrong, But he is also a horrible enforcer. You need that killer instinct you need to want to protect your teammates. Laraque views being an enforcer as a job. He's what alot of people here on this site hate.. off the face off.. want to drop the mitts type of guy.. not a heat of the moment, where it needs to happen type guy.. I'd take a washed up McCarty over Laraque.
-
Kopecky is worthless.. Like he's had his moments.. I rooted for him, But he just never came along.
-
Not sold on him either. I highly doubt detroit is buying into the 1 year hype either.
-
Andre Roy!?!?!?!? Moen and McGrattan. Seriously if detroit wants the best enforcer.. they'd take McGrattan he's the toughest out.. equal to Brash, better then Colton. If they want a guy who can skate play 3rd line minutes and scrap, then it's Moen. then if they want a guy who has a similar everything to Downey but just a better player, then they go after Roy. I'll take Roy, he's my current #1.
-
I would object, but he wouldn't let us have an energetic defensivly strong 3rd line.. which is why i'd shy away from him. He overally just doesn't fit out team needs.
-
I think the big time stars are not getting there huge contracts.. but the marginal players are getting overpayed. Neil? Kopecky? and so on. I think Lappy to philly was a very fair deal though.

Lilja at 1.25 > Walker at 1.7 Jesus, For all the Lilja bashing, He really is another Det steal.

Aaron Downey and Darren McCarty will not be offered contracts
xBrave_Heartx replied to uk_redwing's topic in General
"Sorry Boys..I'm wrong....He has a huge offer from someone else......More than what Detroit wants to spend...and there offer really good! They tried" ^^ thats the word on Orr..My guess is that Burke gave him like a 3 year 900k offer or something. -
Trade Rumor: Osgood and Holmstrom to Flames
xBrave_Heartx replied to King Octopus9's topic in General
i'd do the deal -
Kings and MH? How would he know this already if there wasn't tampering involved.
-
If we got Knuble i would want Holmstroms contract off the books first. They both play a similar game and you saw how un-effective Homer was playing in a 4th line roll
-
I think he is way to slow now. He'd be a 3rd/4th line player on our roster, and he's too slow to be a 4th liner, We need players that can create energy and play a good team game. Shanny isn't exactly a shinning example of hard work. If i remember right he and babcock clashed before also. I loved Shanny when he was a wing, But i think the game has past him by.
