I think there is a soft spot in every wings heart for Toews.. No matter how big of a rival the hawks are to us, He reminds everyone of Stevie-Y so much. Kane on the other hand.... screw him. There are only a few Hawks i would love to have on the wings, Toews, Byfuglein and Eager.

I'm not overly syked about taking Malts out. But its either him or Abdelkader and i think Justin has been creating alot of chances for us.

Why have our star players slowly been disapearing from the game? Why is Datsyuk being looked at differently because he isn't scoring? Why are we not infront of the net battling? why are there no open ice hits of meaning? There are a few people on this team who are carrying the physical weight of this team. the rest are scared of Anahiem. No doubt in my mind the past 2 game ending scrums/brawls have gotten into the wings head. There is a reason why our team came out flat. because we're flat our scared. We maybe out hitting them, but we're not out playing them physically.

Here is my 0.02$ We'll slowly become a grittier team.. sadly. its slowly and not quickly but w/e i'll take it. They've drafted Oslund,Abdelkader,Johnston and Cayer. All have an edgy side, and all are later round picks. I believe Detroit is trying to groom future power forwards. So far Oslund seems to be the only player who isn't panning out to be a PWF. Another Tardif type player possibly though? But since we dont have the cap room to get tougher, i think if anything does happen to us, it's be in terms of 1 man toughness.. and since 2 legit HW enforcers are heading to FA this year. Colton Orr and Donald Brashear, Both could really benefit from a change to the Western division. and tbh, Colton and Brash can play a solid game, They might not have the feet, but they have impacts on games and actually have a pretty resonable skill set, unlike downs. With Ericsson,Lilja,Stuart on D we have gotten considerably bigger. Offensivly depending on who leaves will depend on how much tougher we get. If hossa leaves im guessing we wont see Justin. If Hossa stays there is a better chance we see him. But hopefully Kenny takes a look at the 2 heavies from the east regardless. Kind of bummed to see that Cleary and Lilja wont be fighting anymore, You know there injuries will make them super hesitant, same with Kopecky. I dont see us trading anyone, unless someone is interested in Meech or Lebda. and even then i cant see us getting much value out of them. Forwards i cant see us trading anyone either, So our cap situation will be in limbo until we know what is going to happen with Hossa,Hudler and Sammy.

Samy looks confident with them, He's not going to just give the puck to them just because of who they are.. Its similar to the Dubinsky/Jagr last year.. Dubinsky when he was first on Jagr's line would pass the puck to him and try to stay out of the way. When they became re-united. Dubinsky played his game and the line started to clique. It's not like we didn't have chances last night, i cant count how many times we've had re-directs in the slot that bounced off the blade of player sticks.. Keep in mind, its California in the middle may, The weather is going to have some effect on ice conditions. That is the way i look at it. We could of won, but we had some bounces not go our way. It was a wake up call game, Fans,Other teams, the team probably got over excited, thinking the Ducks would just roll over.. didn't happen.
