Yeah but just saying it was all a gift etc. is just a terrible excuse. Top 3 picks aren't gimmes. Alexander Daigle etc. They've had to deal with a salary cap. Not too mention Pittsburgh's depth 3rd-4th liners have been some of the best in the league, with very underrated D men (Letang mainly). They are a well built team whether you want to admit it or not.

Malkin has been off and on all year though. Honestly it's not as big of a loss as you probably think it is. Malkin has seemed very unmotivated this year, nothing like he was last year.

Sure, because regular season games mean a whole lot when Crosby already lead his team to pretty much clinching a playoff spot when Zetterberg/Datsyuk lead their team to barely maintain an 8th seed. Makes sense.

Defending Stanley Cup champions with 2 of the 3 best players in the world. And a goalie that can steal games in the playoffs. They are a great team to watch and are very well built through great drafting.

I said Osgood was done last season, but even I can admit that Ozzie was great last playoffs. Although right now I'm fine with Howard. We have two good goalies, one just happens to be younger and better.

Yes! There is nothing bad that can come out of signing him. The worst thing would be another Leino situation in which we could just trade him. I'm not sold that he will be able to play in the NHL. He will have zero room to be lazy, and will need to play 100% each and every night. In today's game, his size isn't a major issue. He would not be able to be that physical, but you have to be tenacious more then anything else. Datsyuk isn't the biggest guy and he is the best defensive forward in the world(Certainly not saying ZA is going to be great). So I'm all for giving him a shot.

In comparison to Ovechkin. I didn't say that's a wide barometer to measure all players. Just far and away the two best players. Sorry, it doesn't seem logic is your strong point if you actually believe Draper is better than Crosby.
