Because Campbell is in charge of writing the rules. Campbell is just a judge. He can only work within the rules he is given. Blame the players association, board of governers, GM's, hell everyone involved in the NHL if you are going to throw Campbell under the bus as well. The whole league is ran like s***.

On one part I'm glad these teams are killing each other. But I never like seeing head injuries, hopefully Seabrook will be alright. Dirty play by Wiz, it's a shame I thought Wiz was a good tough player. Didn't think I'd see him do something like this. If he didn't like the Seabrook hit he should of just saved it in the memory bank.

As much as I don't like his decision he can score and we need players that can score. This is just another example that numbers can be bent and twisted to look anyway the author wants. Stuart is far far far from the least valuable player in the league. He's not having a great season by any means, but it's a joke to have him last.

That's not how it is interpreted. I agree the hit should be banned, but until the NHL creates a rule barring headshots there is nothing Campbell can do. If you want to interpret that rule "In any manner", then say good bye to Kronwall open ice hits. That was put in place to add discipline to hits that in the rulebook are deemed to be illegal and have caused an injury. That rule was not put in place to counter legal checks that for lack of a better word were "too hard".

Intent to injure is only used when the original act is illegal.

I'd say Sidney Crosby. Between face-offs and points he's one of the best overall player this season. Kesler and Datsyuk are far and away the two best though. Still think Datsyuk has an edge, but Kesler is closing in.

"Intent to injure" cannot be used in the Cooke case considering there is no rule against headshots/blindside hits yet. "Intent to Injure" can only be used on illegal hits to add discipline, not to be used for legal hits that are too hard. Let's just hope the board of governors gets their stuff together and that rule can get in place asap.

He maybe be vastly overpaid, but he's a solid puck moving defenseman. Not too mention he has less turnovers than Keith and Seabrook. He's a pretty big part of their defenseman, especially considering they don't have much depth. It's a pretty significant loss for them. He's the backbone of their second D pair, he's their equivalent to Kronwall(albeit less skilled/physical).

I agree. Look at all the posters in the thread that are saying Crosby deserved it, and he was completely acting. When I see remarks like this I tend to just match the intelligence I'm surrounded with.

Not every top pick is a guarantee. Hell, last I checked when the Wings were in Chicago's position they had a top pick named Yzerman... You still have to give a team some credit for not busting on picks like Daigle or Bonk. But Chicago hasn't won anything yet so they still have a lot to prove before giving them credit on building a successful franchise.

Sorry, I have a bad habit of stooping down to other's level. So I tend to just fight fire with fire, makes it more entertaining.
