Using +/- as stat to judge defensive play is hilarious. If Ovechkin was as good defensively as you say he is, he wouldn't have cherry picked all Olympics. Not to mention Jeff Schultz is apparently the best defenseman in the league now.

This is what I don't get. I understand hating Crosby for his attitude, interviews etc. But to say Jordan Staal is better? I mean I can't even fathom how you could talk yourself into believe it. I was listening to 97.1 tonight, and hearing the radio guy say he doesn't even have Crosby in his top 10 for current players. This is what is unbelievable to me, I had much more faith in this fan base. Obviously there are going to be a few bad apples here and there but come on Detroit. You are better than this.

I would post the amount of PMs I've received but I'd rather not. I just tend to look past the off-ice stuff, because I don't find that a very true telling of how a person really is. Ovechkin puts people in hospitals with questionable hits, yet Crosby slashes at someones skate and he is the devil. The hypocrisy is what gets me. People in the NHL do worse things all the time, yet it seems every little thing that Crosby does is brought here and the negativity just gets at me over time.

Nah, I have no problems with posters that don't like him because of interviews, diving etc. I just have an issue with people that use those off ice issues against him in term of his skill. Pretty much the bashing far out weighs the positivity. I'm a positive person, I don't enjoy slinging insults around at people. If I see an immature post about comparing Crosby to a toilet, then I'm going to come into the thread and give my opinion on what I believe is the best player in the game. I don't see why I'm "less of a fan" for liking Crosby? That's all.

Sorry, I'm a hockey fan. I care about hockey. Crosby is the best at playing hockey. I enjoy watching Crosby play hockey. I'm happy. Is that simple enough?

I find it funny their rookie has more goals then anyone on our team... Anyways hopefully this is a good start, we can't afford to come out slow.
