Well, if you see a division rival make the playoffs 20 straight years while you swim in mediocrity it could surely cause some bad blood. That said I know many Chicago fans that are embarrassed with that chant, and I'm willing to bet most fans don't hate the city of Detroit just the Red Wing's. Then again I may just be very naive.

Every team has bad fans, and good fans. Chicago is just starting to become a very good team, so obviously they are going to attract newer maybe even less mature fans on their way up. Just like how many became Wing's fan during the late 90's, it's no wonder that the Red Wing's seem to have hated fans. Primarily due to the amount of fans, rather than quality of fans. A few bad apples don't mean the fans sucks. Just those fans suck. /endrant

Yeah I thought so. I also disagree with all the people bashing Osgood. I wish people would focus on how well Howard is doing, instead of making it sound like Osgood is declining or anything. People need to realize that Howard is playing because he is playing well, not because Osgood is playing bad. Hell Howard is outperforming over 30 other goalies in the league right now anyways.
-
I'm not turning on Osgood. I'm just not happy that he feels it's necessary to create controversy when the goaltending situation so far this season has been practically the only bright spot. Osgood has plenty of time to get in playoff shape down the stretch when the Wing's need a goalie to step up like Howard has lately, there was no reason for him to bring this up to the media other than his own personal ego.

Playoff lines Lebda-Lidstrom-Leino Draper-Stuart-Bertuzzi Osgood-Zetterberg-Tatar Cleary-Ericsson-Maltby Datsyuk-Flippula Meech-Franzen Eaves-Helm May Howard
-
He could start by not starting unnecessary drama in the media.

Ozzie needs to be quiet and stop pucks.
-
Sink or swim for Ozzie. A tough game to play after being sat for a long time. I have a good feeling about him tonight though.
-
Bertuzzi. He's Canadian and he scores. Case closed.
-
Why is everyone missing Kovalchuk?
-
I have a good feeling about Ozzie today.

Eww hell no Kenny. Sykora is not what we need, unless he can grow a couple inches, add 40 pounds, learn the defense posistion thoroughly, increases his work ethic, and finds a way to lower his age by 10 years I don't want him.

Woah woah, no way is Malkin better than Ovechkin...
-
Our future better be this epic. That's all I got to say...

I saw it at a JC Penny or Hudsons in a mall. Got a nice picture. Didn't get to touch it I don't think.

So you are ok with Cormier leaving the CHL and go to the AHL/ECHL without any repercussions? If this was a one shot mistake, then I see your point, I just don't think there is anything the CHL can do that would have an appropriate punishment. I'm not asking for anything huge from the law, but it's not like Cormier is undeserving of punishment. Edit:Hopefully other leagues would honor that suspension, but that's a major assumption.
-
Yeah that may work. Just something that can be shown publicly that there is a punishment for hits like this.

I usually try to defend the hitters in this situation(Ben Fanelli hit I didn't mind), I absolutely love hitting in hockey and it's my favorite part of the game. But this has no justification whatsoever. Not too mention he has past infractions for the same type of play. Absolutely gutless, inexcusable, nauseating, and embarrassing play for the game of hockey. There are so many other ways for players to let out aggression, elbowing to the head should not be tolerated at all. I wouldn't even know where to begin the punishment for this, considering if you ban him he'll just go play in the AHL and not miss a beat. I'd hate to bring criminal charges into play(Obviously nothing horribly long), but it may be the only effective punishment to detour future players from recklessly hitting like this.
-
Damn good fight between two solid players. Nice to see these type of fights. I'd say it's a draw, Eaves looked like he landed better punches, but Versteeg drew blood and got the take down.
-
Oh please. Howard didn't have a great game by any means, but he certainly didn't s*** the bed either. It's not like he got pulled... First goal was an awful goal, but he made some key saves. Shoot out is just a joke anyways in my opinion. Granted I would still want Osgood(If he is still Osgood), in net in the playoffs but this game cannot be used to bash Howard.

The whole first line looked dominate. Best they've played in a long long time. Hopefully they can look like this night in night out.
-
Very! You have to take into account every loss in a game he's been even associated with the team to make it fair.
-
Wow Hossa is amazing. Best two way winger in the league. What a shot. Good game by the Wings, first line was amazing. Flip's line needs to be better though.
-
Ya! Awesome seeing two great teams going at it! Lets go JIMMY!!!

Tell you what Pavel/Zetterberg played lights out today. Hopefully they can look like this a lot more towards the end of the season.
