Flip is having a great game, hopefully he can step up along with his line in the 3rd. (Not saying he sucks, but our first line is doing very well and we need that secondary scoring) Been a good game, Howard hasn't been amazing but is still giving us a chance to win. Should be a good third, hopefully the refs keep the whistles in their pockets and let the teams play.

Come on Wings make up for the Lebda mistake!
-
Wow the refs can at least have s***ty call both ways... Nice fight by Eaves, Wings aren't lacking energy in this game. I'm proud of their play the first peroid. Howard had a bad goal(first one).
-
Wings will win. Hossa with the hat trick.
-
Oh well. Bertuzzi is over performing, Datsyuk is underperforming. Datsyuk can and needs to play better. It's time for our star players to play how we know they can.
-
Give Bertuzzi a break, he's a 3rd liner that has more goals than a 7 million dollar Hart finalist.

No way Ott is going to fight May straight up. Not to mention May wasn't on the ice much at all verse Ott so he didn't have a chance to try and get Ott with his own game. That said I do think May should of got in a fight with someone towards the end of the game. Momenteum was shifting and we could of used a break/boost from him.

The referee right next to the net actually "intended" to signal a goal. -
It would be interesting to see the impact of actually having a good second powerplay unit. Or actually have two very good lines before we all make the assumption that the Wing's won't make the playoffs without making a move. I think we'll be fine.
-
I love your confidence that this team isn't good enough to win without making a move. Not saying you can't have your opinion, it just seems you want to make a move to make a move. Holland will pull the trigger if he thinks it will make his club better. He hasn't given us a reason to doubt him since he's been the GM. Sure he isn't perfect, but the Wing's are about as consistently good as you can be in the game today and that has a lot to do with Holland's ability to forecast future talent and production. So in other words, in Holland I trust.
-
I don't think we will make a move. We are banking on Zetterberg actually scoring, and Franzen hopefully producing when he comes back. I don't see Holland leaving with the future to make a run just to get in the playoffs. He has high expectations for this team when they are healthy, and until the prove that they cannot win when healthy(or atleast somewhat) he's going to stand pat. I'd say this team if healthy would still be great, and rather than ruin the chemistry that has gotten the team to back to back SCF Holland would rather have the roster moves come to him. He isn't going to actively look to change the core of this team until they prove they do not have what it takes. I'd say we would have to go on a monster losing streak and have major lockeroom disturbances for Holland to make a major move before the deadline. He's staying pat in my opinion.

Rabble rabble booooPronger rabble rabble Bettman sucks rabble rabble cheating cheating rabble rabble Refs->War room communication/planning/outline/procedure is fundamentally flawed. It's remarkable the amount of controversial calls happening this year. I'd almost rather just have the referees just call the game without replays so we don't expect perfection and can almost anticipate calls being missed. It's one thing to make one mistake in the heat of the game, it's a complete debacle when you take 5 minutes out of a game and still end up with a controversial call that isn't clear in the slightest. -
Simply unbelievable. How could they overturn the call on the ice? ESPECIALLY BECAUSE ITS OTT. I need a drink.
-
Of everyone on the Stars they had to interview Steve Ott? haha
-
He comes through when it matters.

Hey I'm not the one making the threads about Pittsburgh. But I cannot resist talking about my 2nd favorite team when they are brought up
-
Penguins have an amazing organization and I'm sure they have an excellent back-up that can pick up the slack for one of the greatest playoff goaltenders in the game.
-
What a game by Brad May. He deserves the game puck.

Not too mention Ovechkin is European and Downie is North American haha.

I'm no good at disguising anything...
-
I find it funny Ovechkin needs protection. Freaking Euro can't fight his own battles... Crosby would of fought instead of having someone fight for him...
-
I'm not attacking you... I'm just disappointed because I know we need Osgood down the stretch and he just looked out of it. I wasn't expecting a miracle win out of him, but those goals were horrible. How many five hole goals does a goalie need to let in before he fixes it? Obviously I'm exaggerating with most of my complaints, but Osgood is a key to this team and he needs to find a way to get himself back in games and this was not a step in the right direction.
-
We would of been better off pulling Osgood and playing 6 on 5 the rest of the game. Cujo needs to unretire so we can get rid of Osgood.

Sorry, I'm not happy when my team's so-called "veteran Stanley Cup champion" looks like a 6 year old in an important NHL game. He showed no urgency, he let in awful goals, and I'm not happy.
