What's wrong with 01' or 02' runs? In the past two playoffs he's had 41 points in 42 games while playing great defensive hockey as a winger. He is a top 5 winger in the game, he's not a playoff "choker". 97 games 76 points is not choking especially with some of the bad Ottawa teams early in his career, I'm not saying he is a great playoff performer, but he is not bad. Not to mention his international performances which have been great. He is an elite player, whether you accept it or not.

Ok, so you don't buy injuries as an excuse of performance that's fine. Hope you hold every player up to that standard.

And he is a stud in the playoffs when he isn't battling an injury which required surgery and him missing 1/4 of a hockey season.

Anything related with the neck scares the hell out of me. Hope the best for Boyd he was a good guy and no one deserves this type of injury although he was an awful hockey player.

Yeah, Penguins really messed that up. They haven't even made the playoffs with Crosby as captain, oh wait. Geez, Crosby wasn't given the captaincy right when he entered the league either. He earned it from consistently working hard, setting an example, and producing. Ovechkin only sets an example on how not to back check, deliver cheap hits, excessively celebrate goals while losing the game, and taking bad penalties. He is one of the greatest offensive talents probably ever to play the game, but that doesn't mean he is a leader, or a winner. He's still young, but until he puts the effort on both ends of the ice I won't call him the best overall player in the league. Best offensive player? Sure.

He's been the backbone of the USA defense playing the most and quarter backing the PP and playing on the PK. He's been all over the place, he's just steady and not too flashy. What the hell is the hype about Taylor Hall? Kid is getting dominated out there by the Americans, he only got a lucky goal off a horrible rebound and that's like the only thing he's done that could be considered positive.

Cam Fowler > Every Canadian player. Taylor Hall is overrated as hell, he's getting dominated physically.

You are joking right? That was a retaliatory check from behind because of the clean and devastating hit on Hall. Canada just cannot match up the effort and intensity that America has. Canada just doesn't care as much of America does about hockey.

I'm not his biggest fan, but it's hard to argue against his production. He is one of the best players on the PP in the game, and his future should be up to him he's earned another year.

He's never been a great role model. It's a shame he made this mistake, hopefully he can learn from it.
