Then why aren't there more players going over there? Surely Hudler isn't the only player in the league that would be making less money then he probably deserves? I wouldn't have. I'd be perfectly happy playing for one of the best organizations in all of sports. Cannot wait until Hudler comes back over so we can start getting those draft picks in the organization so we can use all our resources into developing them much like we did Hudler. Hopefully they don't carry the same attitude about hockey as Hudler though.

Wasn't directed towards you then. Don't get touchy

Lots of great players. Iginla is right up there. Just happens that Crosby is the best of all of them.

What else do you call a fan that wants the coach that lead your team to back to back Stanley Cup finals fired?
-
Even if he was out coached in the playoffs(which he wasn't.) He still is better than every other coach available beyond Dan Bylsma. This is not the time to blame Babcock. If we miss the playoffs this year, and start the season 0-20 like the New Jersey Net's next year then it's a reasonable time to blame the coach. Pittsburgh was the better team when the Red Wing's were injured. That's all. Stop blaming random things when the Red Wing's lose it makes this whole board look horrible. It's completely ridiculous to insinuate firing Babcock who the hell could we get that's even the same caliber of him? Mike Keenan? ...

Sorry guys. I just enjoy discussing great players.
-
Oh come on. Look at the top 6. This team is playing to potential. THEY AREN'T VERY GOOD WITHOUT 1/3 OF THEIR TOP SIX AND 2nd DEFENSEMAN. THE GOALTENDING IS THE WORST IN THE LEAGUE. There are some things out of his control. Deal with it. It's not Babcock's fault that the team is playing .500 hockey with the amount of injuries. Temper your expectations, and be happy we have an amazing coach that is one of the most successful young coaches in history. He is doing what he can.

Can we trade Datsyuk and Kindl for Malkin?
-
Blame Hossa, Hudler, Sammuelsson, Refs, Osgood, Stuart, Howard, Lidstrom, Bertuzzi, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Refs, Rafalski, Holmstrom, not bringing up Tatar, Holland ... BABCOCK It never gets old.
-
If you want to be a spoiled rotten fan you can. Feel free.

We can start blaming Babcock when the team starts underachieving without the injuries. Until then he should get the benefit of the doubt for getting us to or past the WCF for 3 straight years. You cannot do any better then that...

The discussion is about pure player ability not contract. It's pretty obvious the Wing's would have had to make some major contract moves, and completely change the landscape of the team to be able to pay a top winger like Hossa. Franzen is a better player for the Wing's situation. Hossa is a much better proven player for practicality any other situation. That's all I'm trying to say at least.

Because he is the best player in the NHL. And is a hell of a lot of fun to watch and talk about. Just because he doesn't play on the Red Wing's doesn't mean Red Wing's fans shouldn't have the privilege of watching and talking about his spectacular play.

Physical defenseman. There are plenty that I'd take that are UFA's. Perfect world would be Volchenkov(UFA), Ian White(RFA) or Wisniewski(RFA) but I doubt it. Jay McKee(UFA) more realistically. Wade Belak/Derek Boogaard if May retires. Need that physical presence. Offensively I'd like to see either Lombardi or Stajan. Draper-Helm-Lombardi for a 4th line would be absolutely sick.
-
Babcock is not to blame, he is the best coach in the league and you only blame the coach when there is nothing left to blame. The blame lies on Lidstrom sucking, Datsyuk underachieving and injuries. And before anyone blasts me for bagging on Lidstrom. HE IS 66TH IS DEFENSIVE SCORING. BROOKS MOTHERF*^*&^( ORPIK HAS MORE POINTS. Yep.

Quebec. Or Hartford. Probably Quebec.

This thread happens to be about who you think will win the Art Ross. It just so happens that Crosby is the best player in the league by far. You should know the thread would be about Crosby when you read the title. Oh and he might be planning a trip into space with the Stanley Cup. I'll be sure to pm you the photos if you would like.

Thing is that is the type of injury that could get considerably worse after a bad hit. He got rocked a couple times throughout the playoffs, and did not look like the same player. I just think it's foolish to call the guy a failure when he had to get freaking surgery right after the playoffs... Especially when he carried the Pen's in the 08' playoffs. If you want to believe that he just didn't try, and didn't care about a Stanley Cup go right ahead. I'm perfectly happy focusing on the positives of him carrying our team to the playoffs. Edit: Oh and even a hurt Hossa was better than anything else we had. He was not playing the same amount as the beginning of the playoffs that he was playing for the last couple series.
-
Absolutely not. Crosby is the most complete player in the league. He'll win it this year. But if somehow he got injured by a jealous player cheap-shotting him, then Gaborik is probably the next player(would be about 15 points behind Crosby though). So unless Crosby gets injured for more than 9 games he'll win it easily.

Pat played a couple season of AAA here in MI. Have fun with your irrational hate. Really, do you not understand the cap? They needed room for veterans, because they originally planned on having Abby in the minors this year. If you think they honestly chose Franzen because he is a better overall player I don't know what to tell you. Hossa has more points in two season then Franzen has in his career. TLDR. Get over it.

With a User name of "Red Army". I don't think I'm going to convince you that the KHL isn't a great league. Not saying it doesn't having anything to do with economics. I'm just saying the players I'd want on my team would choose to play in the NHL for less money rather then the KHL. That's all. Hudler is just an example of someone who values money more then the passion and meaning of the sport. If economics really played as big of a role as you think, there would be a hell of a lot more borderline players heading over there. I don't like the KHL, you do. Let's agree to disagree.

The guy couldn't put his arm over his head in the playoffs. He was significantly impacted by a torn rotator-cuff that he had to have surgery on, and only recently has been able to play hockey. Hossa carried us in the regular season. He is a top winger in the league. And is miles and miles ahead of Franzen. That said, the Red Wing's did not have the roster position to reasonable resign Hossa. It would of required too much reworking. Oh and Pat has always been very very immature. Played a couple season's with/against him. But that said he is an amazing top line offensive player, and a incredibly hard worker that would do what it takes to win.
-
Obviously the Red Wing's need to keep Holmstrom as a healthy scratch until the guy starts scoring goals.
-
Oh come on. Anyone in the NHL could go to the KHL and make considerable more money. It's only the selfish, egotistical, past prime, kicked out of the NHL or quite frankly lazy players that actually go there to pursue their careers. You play the game to be the best. It's not like he is getting paid chump change in the NHL. The Red Wing's are a family. If he got injured, look what they did with Vlad, and that wasn't even on the ice, or Jiri Fischer. It's a damn privilege to wear a Wing's logo and play in the NHL. Don't give me that oh he needs the money spiel. I'd have more respect for him if he asked for a trade. People dream to be in his position, and he pissed it away to go tickle his pants with Russian prostitutes while he scores on a few washed up goalies that would get s*** canned in a week over here.
-
If by get him going you mean trade him for a pick. I'm all for it.
