Somewhere the line has to be drawn, a team that practically developed you into what you are, gave you all the chances for success, not to mention is the epitome of a championship team in all of sports not too mention hockey... I don't see many people taking a couple extra million to play in a secondary league. That to me is a bigger position in a crap pond, over a important position in the best pond. People spend their entirely lives striving for the goal and privilege to be given a chance to prove themselves to a NHL franchise, not to mention win a Stanley Cup. He can have fun in Russia getting carried off the ice in a blanket after Chris Simon elbows him in the head.

Can't wait until he comes back so we can get some high draft picks. As much as we need his scoring, I wouldn't welcome him back with open arms. Don't really care about the exact circumstances, but no one in the Wing's organization had good things to say about him when he left. Which to me constitutes "leaving on bad terms".

Oh agree. It's great for a prospect. But players like darren haydar make their careers doing it without getting a call up. All I was saying is a hot streak like that shouldn't automatically grant him a call up.

I expect Lidstrom to be at least in the top 20 for scoring as a defenseman. To have 13 games over Jeff Finger and only one more point, or having less points the freaking Brooks Orpik is concerning. He is currently tied for 66th in defenseman scoring. That's with being in the top 20 for TOI, and 15th in PP TOI. He needs to be better without a question. He is the leader and should be setting the example. That said I have faith in him to turn it around, he has never shown otherwise.

Wow first game I've missed all season, glad I missed it. At least Bertuzzi was in 100% of the teams scoring tonight . Saw a few highlights, was Ericsson injured before or after that horrendous defensive effort on the Nilsson goal? I believe it was after, but that's a mistake that's very very costly. It's one thing to misplay a puck, or make a bad pass. But he looked like a forward on that one. PLAY THE BODY BIG RIG. Howard didn't seem to have a great game, but it doesn't look like he had much help if any. Oh and people calling for Tatar. Please please no. He hasn't been doing anything that extraordinary for an AHL prospect. It's just he is so young that's all. He's all about potential, not actual substance at least not yet. Give him at least half a year before you proclaim him as anything more than a promising prospect.

3 goals for Zetterberg, 1 for Bertuzzi, 1 for Kindl, 1 for Lidstrom, 1 for Homer, 1 for Datsyuk, 1 for Abby. Bertuzzi is getting 4 points tonight. Wing's win big. 9-3

Some fans are scared no doubt. But most of us are just damn curious about how this will all work out due to the tagging rule and salary cap. I don't think that's as much looking for excuses as it is just general curiousity. I look forward to having to actually compete with a team in our division. We really haven't had a rival since St. Louis a long time ago. It's going to be good for both teams.

I agree about not talking about his brother. That's a personal choice. But he needs need to learn that nothing is entertaining or hilarious about injuries and suspensions. To say "It's only going to make me more angry", is a horrendous thing to say when you want to become a ambassador to the game. Young kids are going to take his side and start think "well if Ovechkin can play recklessly I can too" I love his pointless exploits on the golf course, or even to an extent his innocent driving habits. He shouldn't be getting defensive, he broke a rule. He needs to realize that he is more important than a vessel to ***** and complain about a suspension that in the long wrong is going to be helping him. He needs to be on the ice scoring goals and hitting legally. Not nursing his knee after a stupid decision to try and finish a open ice hit in November. There is a fine line between playing hard, and playing recklessly. He has been toying with it for awhile now. And instead of getting mad about it maybe he should be like every other human and take the punishment and learn from it. I'm not going to talk about Crosby, although some of the double standards I'm seeing is pretty alarming. Let's just talk about Ovechkin.

Oh please, "It's just going to get me more angry". What a childish thing to say. He broke a rule, and he is not sympathetic at all. He doesn't care about his image, and he doesn't care about the fellow player. The complete refusal to accept blame is void. I'm not happy about that exchange at all. Hopefully he comes out with a better statement and they caught him off guard.

Hossa will be great. It's just he's so good the rest of the team just lets him do all the work which leads to loses.

Zetterberg >> Kane Datsyuk >> Toews Franzen<<Hossa Lidstrom<<Keith It's even!

Sharp is making 3.9ish or something. But Fibs thinks the cap is getting increased to 70 million so they'll just sign everyone.
-
Stanley Cup finals are nice too. Know what I mean?

About as nice as a Stanley Cup. Know what I mean?

Brouwer is the only one you have signed. Granted it may be a good thing, because those players didn't do much when the Wing's destroyed you guys last playoffs. So you may be better off getting new blood.
-
You are trying way to hard to troll young one. Have to be way way more subtle.

Role-players are very very important in the playoffs. Example : San Jose.

Thank you. Had good inspiration.

To say people in the US wouldn't care about hockey is a little extreme. I take it your Canadian? Btw for the OP it's Canada by far.

Eww at Ward. Anyone have any idea of Volchenkov's plans for next season? He'll be pretty hard to pry I'm sure, but I haven't followed him much how impossible would it be?
-
Ok, I know you know everything about what's going on with the wing's and our cap situation and what they are going to do, but we're getting him. Barker, never. Hjalmarsson hell yes.
-
Well until you guys clear the cap space he isn't.
