If he was playing lazy he would of been taken off the line and treated like Leino.
-
But he hasn't played lazy this year. That's why we are defending him with those stats. You are dismissing stats on an argument that he isn't putting up numbers a first liner should be putting up. No one is saying he is playing great, and should remain on the first line when we are healthy. But what we are defending is the fact he is working his ass off on the ice, and is managing to be playing solidly for the role the team has him in right now. That's all. There aren't any options right now. If you take Bertuzzi out of the top 6 you will have to replace him with a limited experience, pker. And create a whole other issue because the team is struggling to find consistency on the PK. It's a gamble that's not worth taking. He is the duct tape that just needs to hold it together until Flippula's return that's all I'm at least trying to say. Rich Peverley is also the Chuck Norris of hockey, he cannot be compared to anyone else in the world, not to mention on the Red Wings.

Of course we are talking about AHL. If he is inconsistent on the AHL level, it usually doesn't translate into being consistent at the NHL level... That said consistency is one of the last attributes a prospect goaltender develops.
-
I believe he is laying off the monster hits because of his back. He did have a very significant back injury, and that can harm the tenacity in trying to throw huge hits. Although it could be psychological from the situation with Moore.
-
Provide reasons that he "sucks". Because every number, stat, and observation is contrary to that belief. You are free to hold an opinion not based on any tangible evidence, I'm just trying to understand why.
-
Well Tatar is playing in the AHL, while Ferraro is in the CHL recovering from a knee injury. And the draft position had more to do with the question mark about what Tatar really is. Outside of his phenomenal WJC he was just above average.

I'm beginning to get out the crow, but I'm not touching the stuff til I see what he can do for at the very least 1/2 a year more likely I won't make my final decision until I see him for a full year. His biggest challenge is inconsistency, he is on a good stretch right now, and I hope he doesn't slip up on this opportunity he is getting right now. One thing is for sure, he is improving which I will give him credit for.

Brett Hull chose USA. /fans flames

Flippula just has to play defensively. He won't be relied heavily to produce right when he comes back. His injury shouldn't effect his skating much.

Andy Sutton, Anton Volchenkov, or JayMcKee. To replace Lilja and help on D. And if Brad May leaves. Get Wade Belak or if we are out of options for a fighter Boogard but I'd prefer Belak.

Ride the hot goalie. Give Osgood the second game of back to backs. Atleast unntil Howard slips up. Then vice-versa. If it's not broken don't fix it.

Quoting someone from the HFboards, made me laugh.

And posts like this is why I enjoy seeing Crosby succeed.

Thanks couldn't find it anywhere. Thought I saw Leino, but when Datsyuk showed up on the score sheet I thought it might of been Homer. Anyways hopefully everyone can bring the same effort as they did tonight.
-
Guess there is nothing to complain about. I'll get it started. The Red Wing's don't have confidence to play well in front of Osgood!
-
Awesome job again as always! Thanks!

And that play style will lead him to be another Lindros. Or at least impact the length and effectiveness of his career. He doesn't need to stop playing physical, he just needs to redefine his limits. Injuries are becoming TOO much of a part of the game this season. Especially on hits that can be controlled.
-
How many people does he have to injure before it's actually looked at as intent? He is too good of a player to even be suspended for a game, or get injured via him delivering hit. The NHL needs Ovechkin on the ice scoring goals.
-
Didn't know Homer was demoted to the 3rd line as well=P And Datsyuk was out there. Interesting 3rd line Babcock
-
This isn't just an accident, he has been playing along the line of dirty for a while. I don't agree that most of the hits in the video are dirty, but they are close. And the Gleason hit is as dirty as they get.
-
Well that seemed like a pretty good shot there. Did anyone catch who he was out there with?
-
Bertuzzi is such a damn bum.
-
Players like Zetterberg only come around every 10 or so years(at least outside of the top 5ish picks) if your lucky especially if we are just solely talking about development and not via trades or free agency. We are just lucky as hell to have gotten Datsyuk along with him.

I can see people defending the Gonchar hit, I think it was dirty but it certainly wasn't cut and dry. But this one has no counter arguement. It's just plain dirty. Instant karma as well. I have absolutely no sympathy for knee to knee hits. Ovechkin has a list of at least questionable hits already, he needs to tone down his play. He is too good of a player to injure himself on a play like that.
