Well considering our goalies are in the bottom 5-dead last in Save% and GAA, there is an issue there as well.

We aren't the only team in the league facing pretty significant injuries. Granted I don't think anyone is in a worse situation, but there are teams out there playing better and facing injuries to the same type of players.

Not directing this directly at you or anything, but Bertuzzi only has one more giveaway than Datsyuk. He is 3rd on the team in Takeaways, 4th in hits, 2nd in shots, 5th in missed shots, 16 minutes of TOI a game, 5th in forward points, and 16 PIM(which is bad, but not completely awful). I really don't think that's bad considering the 1.5 million salary. Of course he is not playing great, but is he really the reason the Red Wing's are losing or even is he that big of deal? Or does it have more to do with the injuries, Lidstrom's offensive decline, the struggle of the PK(which he has nothing to do with), the struggle of the first PP unit(which he has nothing to do with), or the fact that both of our goalies are at the bottom of all the statistic categories? Bertuzzi should be one of the least of our worries, if he had 20 more giveaways then everyone else, 50 more PIM, then everyone else, was a -10, had no goals, had no points, and missed everyone of his shots then we can start worrying about whether or not a secondary scorer is contributing a significant amount to a team's struggle.

What who cares about Cleary's -6 when Bertuzzi is -5!!!!!!! OMG BERTUZZI SUCKS AHHHHHH END OF THE WORLD SCREW HOLLAND BERTUZZI IS THE REASON WE AREN'T SCORING ITS KARMA etc... Cleary has not played well lately, neither has anyone else but he is usually very consistent at least defensively.

Then why aren't they playing with Datsyuk? Bertuzzi isn't supposed to be our best shooter. And he's not. There is not a problem with him right now. Man why must people blame a 1.5 million dollar player on a team not scoring a goal in a couple games. He isn't on the first PP, he isn't in net, he isn't leading the team in TOI. There are much bigger problems on the team than Bertuzzi not having the ability to have a 10%+ shooting %. I don't see what is so hard to understand. He isn't playing that bad, he is one of the leaders on the team in hits and takeaways which tells me he is doing something compared to the rest of the lackluster players currently on the Wing's.

Not much to discuss. Pretty much the same premise as the 10 other threads on the front page. I get it, the team isn't playing well.

Actually his prediction was based on a healthy team. They are a playoff team 5-8 seed in healthy, and a borderline playoff team with injuries.

I'm the person who wanted to trade Howard for Biron. I still stand by that, I feel Biron has some good years left in him and can bridge that gap with Ozzie for the next couple years for Larsson/McCollum to develop. That's not a knock against Howard, I wouldn't waive him or anything like that, and I hope he can prove me wrong. And I feel if this team was healthy we would still be behind Chicago in the regular season. I'm a diehard Wing's fan of course I want to see my team win every game, but I also understand that we aren't going to be winning the conference every year... I still think we are a playoff team, and can do a lot of damage in the playoffs with our experience.

I'd be giving that goalie the benefit of the doubt if it didn't happen every game and he isn't in the top 25 for any statistical category for his position. Osgood is just another Red Wing that isn't playing his best right now that's all.

Not really he is tied with Leino and behind Holmstrom, Zetterberg, Rafalski, Lidstrom. And I agree he could be taking better shots, but that's the difference between a 1.5 million veteran secondary scorer and a 4 million dollar top line winger. People's expectations are entirely too high for an old Bertuzzi.

Good post, and I agree we have significant injuries and just need to keep our head above water until we can get at least Flippula back.

Fifth on the team in missed shots. He is getting them on net. They aren't going in, but guess what neither is anyone elses' shots. He is creating chances which is more then you can say about most of the other forwards on the team. He is not going to be Hossa or Franzen with 15% shooting percentage if he was he would be making 5 million and be playing for another team.

He is only 5th on the team in missed shots. Although I agree he isn't placing them the best, but I still think he is doing fine considering the circumstances. I feel his faults are being exaggerated too much because people are looking to blame an easy target for the Red Wing's struggles.

Bertuzzi is 2nd on the team in shots. Holmstrom isn't finishing. Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom is the first PP how is that Bertuzzi's fault?
