Damn nice pass by Bertuzzi. Homer can not connect.
-
Meech has looked decent enough for his first game in a while. LEINO Ughhhhh
-
Ok we won that period. Just need to have the same or better for the 3rd period. The game is still in our hands. And Holmstrom is still the best player in front of the net, it's just right now considering his other winger it's just he isn't getting a chance to do what he is supposed to do on 5v5. He cannot skate, backcheck or forecheck and is even missing the few chances he usually gets in front of the net. Him and Bertuzzi are not a good pair, and I was really defending the decision to have them out there but it's too obvious now.

Watch out, stating your opinion could make people angry. Anyways I agree.
-
Well, I'm sorry. I'm just stating my opinion that Holmstrom has not played very well the last week or two. Sorry you disagree with the way I convey my message. Him and Bertuzzi are killing us right now with their penalties.
-
I'm certainly not the only one that thinks that was a bad penalty by Holmstrom.
-
Come on Holmstrom, show your specialty!
-
I give him credit when he does well, I criticize him when he does bad. He has been very subpar even for his standards the last 5-6 games and is costing the team big time by taking lazy penalties. Sorry.
-
Didn't know Hasek was playing in Nashville.
-
Holmstrom is sooooooooooo useless on 5v5. YET ANOTHER PENALTY.
-
Ooo I like! Nice job Miller!!!
-
And you know this how? 5 games is appropriate. Irresponsible move by Laraque, but no one can judge that there was malicious intent.
-
It helps sell tickets and increases the crowd's morale.

It's not like he is making up a bunch of nonsense. Obviously he isn't painting a nice picture of the Wing's, but they certainly aren't as good as they have been. Goaltending while it has been better as of late, was arguably the worst in the league the first couple weeks, neither Osgood nor Howard had a GAA or SAA in the top 25.

May better be in tonight. I don't want Tootoo free roaming tonight.

Put up a poll on NHL.com and let the fans decide.

Bertuzzi is among the team leaders in hits and shots. He has 9 points in 21 games, only 10 PIM. I don't know what you people expect out of him. He back checks, and is skating really hard out there and earning the respect of Babcock. Keep being negative and complaining, I'll be wearing my Bertuzzi jersey and cheering after the Wing's keep winning games.
-
Oh man Nashville has no injuries? Wow their whole team must be enforcers I guess.
-
There isn't a team in the league that is going to want to face a healthy Detroit Red Wing's team in the playoffs. Never count the Wings out of it, I certainly am not. Odds are if we can hold up a couple more weeks, we are just going to keep getting stronger down the stretch.
-
Bertuzzi is the best option right now. Until Flippula comes back we have to stay with the current lines. It's not perfect, but that's what happens when you have injuries. Bertuzzi is hitting and shooting, he isn't Franzen so don't expect him to be. Datsyuk is going to have to step up and carry the line for a couple more weeks. It's not like the production on the line is nothing, they are still getting opportunities and have been scoring a decent amount. Honestly I think the whole blame Bertuzzi thing is the wrong situation to focus on. Obviously it's not ideal, but I'm much more worried about our defensive game then our offensive game.
-
Well you think he was wrong for not having May in the line up. Where do we all draw the line? Could he be wrong about everything?

I fail to see how fighting=team toughness. Obvisiously it doesn't hurt, but I don't think it is mutually dependent on each other. Niedermayer and Talbot definitely would not have have done anything differently in the OP's situation, they wouldn't even have fought our "fighter". And us being "bumped around" by the Hab's got us the PP opportunities that won us the game. If we would have "fought back" we would of lost the game as well as Kronwall. By the way I don't think anyone in the NHL could discourage Laraque from cheapshotting Kronwall, the guy can take just about everyone, and has to practically kill a man just to get attention from the other team. That said, I do want more fighting on the Red Wing's because it's damn entertaining, not because I think it will help win hockey games and is a major factor on team "toughness". I think forechecking, and hitting has a hell of a lot more due to team toughness than fighting because most hockey players won't even answer the bell in today's game. Just my 2 cents.

In short, no.

Yes and people say that players are losing respect more now then before

Tatar is playing so much better then I expected. Not only does he have great vision, but tenacity along the boards is something that has surprised me. He is very feisty which is great to see in a young player(dare I say European at that ). All I can say is I cannot wait until he starts to fill out, we very well might have a diamond here.
