Holmstrom is more of a hinderance than Bertuzzi. Holmstrom did nothing tonight, absolutely nothing.

Yeah that was pretty much the only alternative I could think of. Give either Homer/Bertuzzi a rest a couple shifts a game and send Abby out there to bang some bodies and just play. He has had quite a few scoring chances and has cashed in on a pretty good portion considering his ice time and role. One thing I've noticed with the Datsyuk line is the lack of forechecking and established presence in cycling in the offensive zone. Almost all the chances from that line either come from face off wins or transition odd man rushes. They really haven't been able to win battles on the forecheck which is one less opportunity for giving Datsyuk the puck in the offensive zone.

Just not many options to jump start Datsyuk right now. Bertuzzi shouldn't be playing on the first line, but we don't really have another choice with injuries. The only thing I wouldn't mind seeing is throwing Abdelkader up there with Datsyuk-Homer/Bertuzzi from time to time. Getting some more speed with Datsyuk might just provide that hidden switch, not too mention Abby is pretty good in the corners and can forecheck well if nothing else.

You're welcome to your opinion. But if you think that fight was for no reason then you don't have the correct idea of what fight's are for in hockey. The purpose is for momentum and entertainment. If you don't find that entertaining, then sorry you're in the minority just go grab something to drink and come back after it, just because you don't like it you want it banned for everyone? That's like saying I don't like eggs for breakfast so screw Denny's for having it on the menu!

NHL on the Fly pretty much had the same interpretation as everyone else here did. It's a unanimously horrid call, that will hopefully be used in changing the rule.

My suggestion is to watch some other hockey games. The Red Wing's aren't the only team that gets bad calls. All of your examples are calls that happen regular due to the incompetency of officiating in the NHL. If the ref's really were against the Wing's, then their is no way that they would be as good as they are year in year out.

Jimmy had a good enough game, May looked good, Zetterberg looks good. I think we need to change the Datsyuk line. Throw Abdelkader up there or something it's just not working right now.
