With all the injuries going on in the league, it might be a good opportunity for him. He certainly is able to contribute somewhat still. If only for veteran presence on a young team like Phoenix(although they did add a lot of veterans?).
-
Yeah, he had a really strong game. 1 goal against and 5 shoot out saves.
-
That is correct I believe Malkin was dealing with it at least partially. That said Crosby didn't have much of an issue in 05-06 without Malkin. I just think it's a little unfair to base the Malkin vs. Crosby thing on personal stats while the whole team is struggling with very key injuries, that's all.

Hoping Jimmy can come in and play well.
-
Well Crosby is affected with the lose of Gonchar aswell Malkin, their PP has been dreadful lately. Crosby is also playing with a groin injury and is noticeable affecting his skating, not to mention he is carrying around Bill Guerin who looks every bit of his age and is not playing good hockey right now. Malkin certainly has more talent then Crosby without a doubt, but as a pretty avid viewer of Penguin's game Malkin has the tendency to take nights/shifts off, where as Crosby is much more consistent when it comes to the little, important battles within the game. It might not be on the stat sheet, but that's what makes Crosby a leader beyond the stat sheet. In before the Crosby hate by people who don't even watch the games.

SCF last year? Not saying you personally used injuries as an excuse, but many other Red Wing's fans did. Certainly is a factor in losses.

I wasn't saying anything other than the fact that a team missing a top 3 player in the league, their PP quarterback and leading TOI defenseman, 2 big PKers and energy guys, Orpik their big PK and physical defenseman and having another top 5 player in the league and their 2-3rd defenseman play through injuries. Not every team is missing as big of players as Pittsburgh is. Sorry not trying to be a dick about this just throwing my input in aswell...
-
They are now missing Malkin, Gonchar, Orpik, Talbot, Kennedy. Letang and Crosby are both playing injured. They are screwed for the time being, luckily for them none of the injuries are especially long. I'll hold my judgment on them once I see them play good teams when they at least have a couple of top 6 players. At the risk of reviving this thread, I just wanted to throw out that teams that are experiencing many key injuries they usually have a tough time winning games.

Is he for sure going to play in the NHL? Maybe he was signed to replace on of the GR guys?
-
They weren't that bad when I went. Just mind your own business and you shouldn't have any issues. And nice tickets btw!
-
Yeah the record is certainly not that bad, especially considering how mediocre the rest of our stats are(PK%, PP%, GAA etc.).
-
Getting Larsson ready to come to the big show? Eh I have no clue. I don't believe anyone of our goalies are injured/hurt, so not really sure on that end either.
-
Hmm interesting claim. Good to see yet another Sparty, but I can't say I know a whole lot else about him other then his playoff run with Anaheim. What's his salary, what's his style?

The NHL's top secret flow chart for handing out suspensions
Carman replied to WpgMikos's topic in General
Great chart. I laughed at "damnit Pronger" -
How many of those goalies have a Conn Smythe? I mean, he definitely shouldn't have came out in public with this, especially how with how much the organization has done a lot for him the past couple years, but Giggy at least was a damn good goalie, and is still fairly young I can understand his frusteration of not playing, hell there would be something wrong if he said yeah I love being a back up. He is a competitive, that's a good sign I suppose... That said, no thanks for him with the Wing's way too big of a contract.
-
I agree NHL needs to remind these players to keep their head up, hitting their wallet might help reinforce it.
-
Anyways, Good luck to McCarty. He was pretty good on the radio, and the couple of times on FSN.

Howard was signed in 08' not last off season, and I've never said that Howard wasn't ready. Holland lost Quincey for nothing, and what I meant was he isn't going to make the same mistake by choosing to waive a player like Howard. Howard isn't at the level of Biron yet, and it is uncertain whether or not he actually reaches his potential. He has trade value because of what he might be, not what he is. Howard signed in 08' when he was still in development and thought to be the next Red Wing starting goalie. Now he is struggling to even relieve Osgood a couple games a month. Therefore, if we could secure a proven goaltender for Howard I'm all for it, that's all I'm saying. I'm not "back peddling" or "spinning". You're just losing me for some reasons on your end.
-
Well just an ordinary dirty hit, Glencross deserves his suspension nothing else to say really. I don't buy the whole "lack of respect" argument in the game. Moving along.
-
Then what would he do waive Howard for nothing? Howard had no options this year it's NHL or bust. Obviously, Holland isn't going to choose to lose a player for nothing(Quincey), especially with the potential that Howard has. Howard has value still. To say your point can't be argued is hilarious to me, your like a little kid that thinks Batman could beat up Superman and refuses to think otherwise.
-
Class of 09' in my opinion. Hard comparing 2 forwards/2 Defensemen to 3 Forwards/1 defensemen though.
-
Good for Legace, hopefully he can redeem himself.
-
Markov and Gonchar... Anyone negatively thinking what I'm thinking... Datsyuk...
-
Always next year. Gah, the injuries this season are unreal.
-
Rob Blake doesn't quarterback their first PP, or lead the team in ice time. He's their 3rd in TOI. He still contributes, but not to the level Gonchar/Lidstrom do.
