Wing's are 15th in GF, and 23rd in GA. PP is 15th, PK is 26th. Defense wins championships. Stuart will be fine to quarterback the 2nd PP, he's done it before atleast give him a shot before you start raging at not signing another PP forward to use on the 2nd PP. You think my idea sucks. Woah woah, there you go putting words into my mouth. I haven't called Howard a failure once. Just because I'd trade a unproven backup for a proven backup doesn't mean I think Howard should quit. They gave him the chance, because we did not have the salary room IN THE OFF SEASON. Holland didn't let Conklin go, he couldn't afford him at the time. Btw, I'd rather see them do something rather then just sit tight until next season. Who do you plan on getting with that extra salary? Satan? The guy who ended up a healthy scratch on practically every team he's been on? At least I'm coming up with an idea that I'd think would work. Nope he's had ~200 games to impress the Wing's management. Also I'm not talking about past decisions this off season, no where have I brought up Conklin. But guess what? Now we can afford a real back-up. Yay! He's had plenty more tries the 4 games, why do you refuse to believe that? I'm not asking him to win games either, but not giving up 4 goals an outing sure would help his case. Let me sum it up for you, I don't hate Howard, and I hope he will reach his potential, that said I wouldn't think twice if I could get Biron for Howard that's about the only move I'd accept with Howard. They certainly are, I'd be interested in seeing the actually number of injuries and compare it to other seasons. This just seems to be record setting.

I never said get rid of him or anything that negative, and my post was in regards to this season only. He is absolutely amazing in the playoffs, but right now we really could use one of his playoff performances to actually improve in the standings being 10th right now isn't a great feeling. Please don't lump me with the Osgood haters...

Oh I agree, I'm totally fine with how Osgood has played and I absolutely think he's a great team guy, I've just seen the whole argument with Islanders/Blues and just give a little different perspective. Plus it's late and I'm not all here and kinda went on a different tangent I suppose haha.

Well he was benched earlier in the season for Meech, but really not much else since. But now it's getting so painfully obvious I don't know what to say. I was really supporting Lebda, because I thought he had a really good year last year, but his recent play is just unbearable.

Where the hell are you getting these 5 games from? I'm basing my opinion on the inconsistency that he has shown the past ~200 games under the Wing's development. He has yet to maintain consistent solid play for a whole game, not to mention any actual road trips. That said he certainly can develop into a Tim Thomas or Craig Anderson, but I sure am not going to wait 6 more years for that. If I could get a proven goalie like Biron for Howard I'd do it in a heart beat. And yes I understand that goalies take longer to develop, fact is I don't feel confident in Howard.

I'm not saying Osgood is bad, but the Islander's/Blues teams are not as bad as people make them sound. 01 and 02 Islanders had a very very good defense with Aucion/Hamirlik/Jonsson in a pretty awful divison. and the 03/04 Blues had a very good team with a prime Tkachuk/Weight/Demitra/Pronger/Drake/Mellanby. Also it's not like he carried them, Garth Snow had similar numbers on the Islanders and Brent Johnson/Reinhard Divis had similar stats although Osgood did play the majority of games for the blues in his second season. All in all he is a very good goalie, but there is a reason he is only getting paid 1.450 million this year.

I'd welcome it especially if we could sneak Lebda into the deal. Biron has looked pretty damn good so far this season.

Just my opinion. I tend to root against teams that could affect the Red Wing's in the standings. Not saying you have to, just trying to understand other people's perspectives.

Meh, just once I'd like to see Osgood steal a game when the Wing's aren't looking good. But I suppose he isn't getting paid to do so, so I can't really complain. Just buying time until we hopefully hit the jack pot with one of our prospects.
