That depends on the league's definition of 'Automatic'
Carman replied to PotbellyJoe's topic in General
Any other 'superstar' would of been of the hook like Malkin. Playing favorites probably isn't the best way to describe it, I'd say more of a way to limit enforcers from sending end of the game messages without having to suspend regular players for heat of the moment game situations. -
I said growing into a complete player. No where did I say he was one yet, he still has to improve in many areas. And of course he isn't on the ice the most on the PK. Datsyuk is 7th on forward ice time for PK that argument isn't very good. Also don't bring up the Malkin, he is so inconsitent and makes some of the most basic plays look ridiculously difficult in the defensive zone it's laughable, ask any Penguin fan that actually watches the games. And I don't hate Ovechkin at all, I was just acting like Crosby haters as I commented on Ovechkin probably not a good idea, but it happens. That said I do think Crosby is a more valuable asset to a team. I think you misunderstood me because we both agree he isn't complete yet.

No, there is an exception that lets them overlook the situation. They cannot label the players in the rulebook, but that's my interpretation. And there will always be conspiracy theorists. -

Meh, I don't really care too much. The rule is in their mainly to effect enforcers/fighters from giving messages at the end of the game. Not to suspend a superstar player. Sure it's playing favorites, but it's not like what Malkin did was a horrible malicious thing really deserving of a game. -
Nah, my post certainly wasn't only directed at you Echolalia. Just mainly to other posters on the forum that seem to always bash Crosby at every given moment. You actually back up your posts with relevant events rather then just posting a "LOL CINDY IS ***'. I'm not going to sit here and say he is the perfect player, I just look past most of the on ice incidents and tend to focus on the actually game. Then again I'm pretty lenient on the chippy stuff in between plays(I'm a huge Avery fan). I think it's an ironic argument for a Wing's fan that loves Franzen to bash Crosby for diving. He certainly does not dive as much as some people make it out to be, he is no Mike Riberio. I watch every Penguin's game and really notice the determination in Crosby's game, night in and night out he never gives up in a battle in a corner, or give anything less then 100% on the ice which is a very rare thing for an NHL player sadly. I guess I just want to show people that Crosby is a player that seems to be improving in every aspect of his game and I really respect it. He was an awful face off man when he got in the NHL, now he is a league leader, he was bad at shoot-outs 4 for 4 this year, switched his stick to improve his shot now he is off to a career high in goals. He is tremendously improving his defensive game and playing on the PK, and is really growing as a complete player as much as some people dislike it. It just irks me when people look pass the positive things he does just to call him childish names, I probably expect too much, but whatever.

Get rid of hard capped shoulder pads before adding rules. Don't change how the game is supposed to be played. That should be saved for a final option after all other avenues are traveled to find a way to limit the injuries. I agree that something should be done, but I think it has more to do with gear then players. I don't think it would be a better game without the aggression and hitting.

Imagine having Semin on the Wing's...

I don't understand how you can hate Avery. The guy is awesome.
-
Yep, he isn't quite where he used to be offensively at least. Defensively I haven't noticed a huge difference though.

I see this thread still going strong after my day at work. Hope you all feel better about your lives by calling a 22 year old NHL superstar a girl on a fan forum for the 500th time. Btw he isn't the only one to dive, and we actually have a bigger diver on our team(Franzen). He isn't the only one to complain or whine about refs, I guarantee every single one of us complain about them as well and it's not even our career involved in the game. Not to mention hearing Babcock's disagreements with them in post games about goalies interferences as well. He isn't the only player that slashes or spears. Nothing he does negatively is out of the ordinary, the only thing that is out of the ordinary is the coverage of the NHL on him and I agree, but that's certainly not his fault. I just don't understand the absolutely childish remarks that posters go to in insulting someone they have never had a conversation with. If you don't like him that's fine, but don't get all mad when I post saying positive things about him. Just my 2 cents.

Red Wings VP Jimmy Devellano on Fan 590: Wings fans should lower expec
Carman replied to kook_10's topic in General
Jimmy D is a magician he is the main reason for all of Detroit success he is the one that taught Holland, he is the one that drafted Yzerman,he is the one who hired the scouts, he is the Detroit Red Wing's. He knows what he is doing and for any of you so called fans to tell him he is wrong for saying that is in my opinion completely ridiculous. -
I wish... Anyways no hard feelings.I'm just putting my opinion out there. What you probably think of my posts praising Crosby I probably think of your posts against him.
-
O'Brien is such an easy target for Avery that's not even fair.
-
Yeah, how dare they cover the Osgood shut-out and Hockeytown sign picture. What a joke. It's like people wait for day they show Crosby as a headline to start complaining about him again. Sure the play wasn't amazing, but they had a special just like this one on Stamkos' start to the season which isn't amazing either...
-
Glad I got you to take part in the community! It's a fun place with a lot of different opinions. That said, I don't think +/- is a very telling stat in defensive play.
-
I think it was a very good play, and they had these videos of Crosby goaltending from a NHL network special. It was an opportunity for them to use it. Honestly this isn't a big deal, they had a Stamkos highlight package like this last week. People are just complaining about it because it's Crosby and it's annoying to me.
-
Jealous fan is jealous. Crosby made a pretty unordinary play, sure we've seen it before, but it was certainly not a normal blocked shot. Attention follows a young captain of a Stanley Cup winning team that managed a Lester and Hart trophy within 2 years of him being in the league. The league needs to grow and he is one of the superstars. Get over it.

Ericsson should be moved to a forward again. Big winger, good speed, good shot, doesn't have to think too much. Hmm...
-
Classic OHL there. Not surprised. Oh well. Best wishes to both the kids.
-
s***ty call.
-
He's been quiet. Just made a decent play though. At least he isn't turning the puck over in the defensive zone.
-
Ozzie is sharp tonight.
-
Man, do we have an obsession for consecutively icing the puck? haha
