Filppula! That line is looking great.
-
Great save Jimmy!
-
Nice shot J will. I kinda like the no tv analyst thing I like hearing the sound of the game for a change, and the crowd is great.
-
I think Dick Axelsson plays there if memory serves me right.
-
The stream will pop up at 1:00 est, on the front page. They don't advertise it too much. And I don't think it's going to be televised.
-
Hank are you a critic of Filppula as well? Both are paid to be shut down defensive centers, that provide secondary scoring. I'm not sure how you can't like a talent like Staal who already is a very good 3rd line center who scored a pivotal shorthanded goal in the Stanley Cup finals to help his team win a Stanley Cup at 21 years old? Am I missing something? Edit: I'll correct my statement that the Stanley Cup winner is the best team the next year isn't right, what I meant was they should still be considered strong contenders.
-
All I see are excuses, they won the Stanley Cup last year. The core of their team is young and will be more mature and have more experience. They didn't make any big moves except in bottom pair defensemen, they gained Jay McKee which replaces Scuderi pretty well. IMO if they can overcome the Cup hangover there is no reason to believe they won't contend again this year. Guerin was acquired at the deadline and will have a full season of playing with one of the best play making centers in the game(Crosby). And you say Staal is overrated? Really? He is probably the best 3rd line Center in the game. Orpik is a very physical defensemen who plays a huge part in big games. Also about Pronger and Philly sure they got better but that's practically the only team and they sure haven't shown good playoff performances like Pittsburgh has, but New Jersey got worse, Rangers' season is gambling on a player made of glass, NYI are a good couple years away all in all I don't see what's wrong with picking the Penguins? Every fan in the NHL has to deal with the Wing's winning practically every year for the past 15 years, welcome to the real world where last years champion is still the best team in the league until next year's Stanley Cup Champion.

To be given the chance to play hockey for the greatest organization in the game and then just piss it away really irks me personally. If it was the first time this happened I'd give him a pass, but we took a shot on him after the first time he quit. He made the commitment to play hockey professionally and to not even want to try to play at the highest level with the tools he has, I don't know I think he is crazy.
-
From all that i've read he's won the job as #2. And Toskala has looked really bad, so the trigger finger is ready for the Monster to get a chance this year.
-
If he plays with Zetterberg and keeps healthy all season 25 should be easy.
-
This just reinforced my belief that Joel Quenneville will never, ever win a trophy in hockey.
-
Kopecky is just awful. Looked 100x slower on international ice. Really embarrassing for the Hawks. I'm going to wait until the Wing's win convincingly before I make fun of them too long.
-
Zurich Lions pretty much out played and beat Chicago. It's kinda funny until I saw Chicago's roster that's pretty much all NHLers. BTW Kopecky looks 100x slower on international ice.
-
Lang is lazy and he sucks. Coyotes are going 0-82 this year and move to Iran.
-
Hopefully it will, the kid has a lot of potential. Just from every interview the kid doesn't seem to get it. He always says "I know i'm good enough", "I know I can play in the NHL" etc. Not "I'll try my hardest to improve." If he can change his attitude and determination he can be a very good NHLer, but he has not shown improvement yet. In my opinion, he's just another one dimensional player that played on a stacked junior team and racked up the points. It's looks like he'll be another Jiri Dopita, and Pavel Brendl.
-
Awesome glad they are doing this.

Schremp is an awful NHLer. Maybe a new team will change his working habits and he can actually develop a somewhat respectable NHL work ethic. The guy is cocky and wants everything handed to him. He doesn't care about anything except the offensive zone. And he cannot skate worth a damn. That said he has amazing offensive instincts and world class puck handling/moving skills. He would be a great Power Play player which in this NHL is actually useful. Not a bad move for the Islanders considering they are devoid of players like Schremp.

Love this kid. This is the type of player I would love on the Wing's. A young, hard skater, and good fighter although the injuries worry me. Great technique you can definitely tell the boxing background.
-
Better to find out now before we committed anymore development time/roster spot. I don't think there was a whole lot there with Ryno anyways he had the size and decent hands, but skated like a sloth.
-
Either that or Babcock has been bagging them every practice.
-
I really think people overrate Chelios' coaching and leadership overall. I mean he was a hell of a player, great defensive mind and a physical phenom but I haven't heard other players compliment his mentoring which is something you usually see in players like him.
-
As bad as this is going to sound. I don't think it would be an upgrade. There is a good reason he was not sought after in Montreal and cut in San Jose.
-
Don't really see a need for him at all. Wish the ex-wing the best of luck though.
