They resigned Howard because he has done a decent job in the AHL and was a great prospect with a lot of value. The thing about Larsson is that was his first year in the AHL and in America. Usually that doesn't bode well for European players, but didn't really miss a beat. Detroit can't really make a big mistake, either Howard does well and stays as a back up or he doesn't and we find a decent replacement, and if the questioning is effecting Howard in anyway then he wouldn't last long as a Detroit goalie afterall. P.S. Cute nickname for a coach that has more Stanley Cups then you have sentences in your paragraphs.

Can't really hold it against Kovalchuk the same way you can hold it against Thornton. Thornton has had plenty of opportunities in the postseason with pretty good teams, while Kovalchuk plays for an expansion team. Goal scoring is the hardest thing to do in hockey so I can see why Kovalchuk is getting alot of votes.

Nice shoot out move by Kadri in the Toronto game.

No it's not our logic at all. We aren't basing his performance on one game... But really it's not that big of a deal the back up position isn't a season breaking issue and we have plenty of depth in the position. I just don't get how we are awful fans that hate the Red Wing's when Babcock pretty much said the same thing about the situation. Jimmy Howard has yet to impress in the chances he's been given and he is on his last chance. There aren't many options left either he really stands out in the next couple months or he doesn't.

Goal post for Lids, sounds like a good shift again for Leino-Flip-Bertuzzi

2-1 Ericsson scores halfway through the first.

2-0 Philly already, might not want to watch this game after all.

Yeah, not getting anything to work. http://www.610wip.com/ is philly's radio to listen.

Pretty much anything except your man-obsession of Homer.
-
Just noticed no Markov aswell. Man how does TSN have this guy employed?
-
I'm hoping for a 40 goal season. If he plays with Datsyuk it should be possible.
-
Wow this show leaves me speechless. In a good way.
-
Ouch, never like hearing about knee injuries. Hopefully he can recover 100% just in time to get knocked out in the WCF.

Tardiff is going to dominate Pronger and Hartnell tonight watch.

Watch and understand the greatness of Aaron Downey.

The Wing's didn't keep Conklin is because of salary. Conklin I believe is making 1.3ish for STL and Detroit couldn't match the offer. I believe it wouldn't be a contest and the wing's would of absolutely choose to have Conklin over Howard, but couldn't do it because of the cap. As far as Cloutier the Wing's more then likely were doing him a favor of exposure, but you never know what Holland has up his sleeve.

Cloutier for Vezina and Hart. Calling it now.

Sign him as a strength and conditioning coach, and get him behind our bench. Get it done Kenny.

Abdelkader has looked amazing in the preseason. We have to find a way to get him in the regular season. Leino also had a good game, really strong on the puck and created some offense.

For every Johan Franzen, Semyon Varlamov and Daniel Cleary there are plenty more Patrick Stefan's, Marek Schwarz's and Jack Skille's. You are bringing up the exception not the rule. All I'm saying is Howard is running out of time and if he doesn't change his play he more then likely won't be here the whole year. Osgood isn't getting any younger, and he certainly has a couple good years left. With that said, I don't think Osgood is going to play 70 games and we will need a consistent back up.
-
Because saying that we don't have 100% confidence in one of our back-up goaltenders means we are going to go vandalize Holland's house and never watch hockey again.
-
I don't see how it's a knee-jerk reaction to not have 100% confidence in a kid that was as highly touted as Howard and has been on display for 4 years and has yet to completely string together a meaningful amount of games as a starter? That said I hope he can prove me wrong, it sure would be nice for the Wing's to actually develop a good goalie from the draft to a pro, we've kinda hit a brick wall with goalies for the past 15 years. And it is certainly possible for a goalie to turn a corner very quickly and become amazing practically over night, and Howard definitely has the tools.

Fire Babcock, resurrect Jack Adams.
