Thanks for the support=). Although I don't agree with the 'hosed' thing. Penguins won pretty fair. Injuries and fatigue really took a big toll on us=(
-
Hmm possible, I would say it really depends on how Larsson, and Howard look. Possibly even a little later down the road, McCollum who is having as good of a start to a young goalies career as practically possible. I can see the wing's getting a veteran stop gap for some of our younger prospects to get a chance to develop. Who knows, I trust Holland especially when it comes to goalies=)

Eh. The whole Granato situation that and just going from a top team to a last place team. I figure that would weigh into his decision as a aging vet. Just my speculation.
-
I think Lappy declined the Av's offer because the Av's management is just horrible, I mean absolutely horrible. I doubt it was as much about the money instead of actually playing for a coherent management team.
-
I can understand most of the decisions, but seeing Holmstrom out there the final couple minutes really confused me. But I'm not going to question Babcock he is obviously one of the top coaches in the league and I'm sure it's me missing something rather then him
-
For some reason I doubt he did it on purpose. I'm not going to defend him either, but the seems to be a rather useless thing to do in my opinion. Who knows, I couldn't even watch the hand shakes so I have no idea what actually happened though.

Yes let's blame the 4th defensemen for not scoring more then 1 goal aswell. I agree he played an abortion of the game, he looked like he had a concussion all night, but he did not single handedly cost the wing's the cup, albeit he didn't exactly win them it either...

He has to be a damn Robot.
-
Do you really believe this? Face it, he was the captain of the team, he was their leader. He may not have contributed on the score sheet as much as Malkin, but they won with everyone contributing. He succeeded on being a the youngest captain to be apart of Stanley Cup team in the history of the NHL. He succeeding on being the youngest Art Ross winner, the youngest player to get a 100 point season, youngest to be named to the All Star team, youngest to win the Pearson, youngest to have two consecutive 100 point seasons(Btw this isn't the 80's where everyone scored 100 points), and he has a Hart trophy before he is 22. Face it, he isn't as bad as you want him to be.
-
He has a Stanley Cup, and carried his team through the first couple rounds. He is a hell of a player. Don't hate him because he's accomplished more then our star players at a younger age.
-
I'll pass on those two playing for the wing's especially for the amount of money they would get.

I'm eating and drinking a bunch waiting to go into hibernation until late August-ish

Too tired tonight to go in-depth. But the Wing's have some good options here. I'd love to see something like this next season with one of these Chris Neil 30 OTT $1,200,000, Ian Laperriere COL $1,150,000, or Mike Grier 34 SJ $1,775,000 to add on a line with Helm would make a nice fore checking line.

It's the night we lost the Stanley Cup, there isn't going to be a lot of coherent thoughts going around. Fact is Stuart played like a damn abortion tonight, and sadly that's how many will think of his playoffs. Even though he played really strong when he stepped up during Lidstrom's injury vs. Chicago and was a big part of our PK even doing remotely anything positive.
-
He's the biggest salary UFA the Red Wing's fans can blame. It's not like we are going to blast Franzen for not scoring, he is going to be here for another 15 years so obviously it has to be the guy we will most likely lose.
-
I was hesitant on Osgood in the beginning of the playoffs. But he did absolutely everything you could ask of a goalie. The guy is amazing, and deserves every single complement he gets.
-
He definitely took a big leap into a legitimate second line center. Him and Franzen should be a good pair for a while He seemed to get a lot stronger on the puck and really was using his body well.

Who Else Thought Lidstrom Was Going to Score At the End?
Carman replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Sadly, this. Gah if only the Wing's could play a full 60 minute game... oh well. -
I really think a lot of teams could of out-played us in the Finals, we just could not play a full 60 minute game at all. But Pittsburgh took advantage of the mistakes, and played smart. They deserve it. Congrats.

I can see where both sides are coming from. I really think Hossa has a pretty bad injury, he just didn't have that top gear. He defintely is not worth what we paid for him this year. But there are not a lot of suitable replacements for a winger. The only way the Wing's can go wrong is if they overpay for him. Otherwise I trust that Holland can get a decent player that can fill Holmstrom's role, I don't think he can take this punishment much longer.
-
Osgood was one of the best and most consistent goalie of the playoffs. Lidstrom is still a Norris trophy caliber defensemen. We will probably lose a couple of the older players. And your telling me that Ericsson(Who scored a goal in a SCF game 7), and Helm(One of the biggest surprises of the playoffs) aren't ready for the next step? That's not even getting into the steps that Flippula took. If anything the Red Wing's will be better. Aging roster? Check the ages again my friend. The Wing's aren't going anywhere.
-
Eh... been better. But looking forward to the future of our team. And hopefully they won't let this happen again
