I've never been a fan of Penner. I'd rather save the money on defense/goalie if needed, our forward depth will be fine.

Thanks for the points I knew I saw it somewhere, but am too lazy to dig that up. Interesting, I know the Islanders aren't doing well, but are they so bad they are really considering moving them?

Yeah... don't get the guy trying to bash Downey on the one thing he is good at... There is a reason he is still in the league and gets called up, and it's not for his amazing dangles.

Actually the wings did say they would move to the EC before, if I can recall correctly. I'm not a 100% sure I think it might have been when the talks were going on about 32 teams.

Probably because we have the fewest fights... /shrug. EDIT: By the way, by no means did I say this is my opinion, I love the red wings. But that's about the only thing anyone could criticize the wings being 'boring' as. Although i certainly wouldn't mind a little more a little more physical play, but not complaining with this record.

I'm definitely for it, especially if they do the World Cup of hockey. International hockey is to die for. Also I really think this could help players/team, and avoid situations like the Datsyuk-Lidstrom all-star game suspensions. Those few days in the middle of the year are very valuable.

That could definitely work - except I foresee Kopecky losing his edge on a neutral ice transition and catapulting himself into the wall just like the Mongolians did the Great Wall of China.

It's a good question, and one that will be answered come playoff time. If one of the goalies plays well, I'd say no. But if we bust this postseason, and one of the major reason's is the goaltending I can see us going after a veteran goaltender. We are also very very deep on goaltending prospects, that's why I don't see us signing a breakout young goaltender, and if we do go after a goalie it will be a proven 30+ year old goaltender in my opinion.
