Well let's hope the collective experience + Hossa can out do a hearty grinder at the end of his career. It's going to be a good playoff run either way

Ken Holland interview just after the trade deadline. http://www.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?id=35512 Pretty interesting interview for those who didn't see it. Good to see he was looking for a grit player after the loss of Drake, but in the end felt the team is strong enough as is which I agree with

It's not so much a matter of personnel other then coaching. Brad Mcrimmon is not doing well this year. New players aren't going to make a dramatic difference. Neil would have been nice, but it's not season breaking. We have proved throughout the year that we don't rely on anything to win games.(Other then not playing back-to-backs). I feel we are in good shape and with the leadership and experience on this team I'm confident they can get it done. And even if they don't. Then there is surely be moves in the off-season and rinse-repeat. It's not the end of the world. I'm happy enough being a fan of the Red Wings a team that year in year-year out is a Stanley Cup contender, and that's all I can ask for.

I agree, Ken Holland is such a bad GM. We are never going to win anything with him.
-
I can see the point of shipping Franzen out, but considering our depth and standing there is no one out there that would be a better player to help the team on the road to the Stanley Cup. If we were a bubble playoff team I'd fully support shipping out a UFA for potential. But since the Red Wings are looking for a Cup it's all or nothing, especially with how our young players are looking.

SOME GUY SAID SOMETHING I DISAGREE WITH. LETS ALL INSULT HIM TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER.
-
I'm content. At least we didn't make a bad move.
-
He played on both the PP/PK.

1st: Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holmstrom 2nd: Franzen - Filppula - Hossa 3rd: Hudler - Leino - Sammy 4th: Helm - Draper - Cleary Lids, Raffy Kronner, Stuart Lilja, Ericsson Eh, not too bad. Leino was a pretty good center in Finland /shrug.

If kopecky can actually give/take a hit without falling over I'll get a Kopecky tattoo on my back.

He looked great out there for his first game in a long time. He was really strong in front/corners. Made smart decisions about pinching and really made himself not stand out which is pretty good stuff for a young defenseman. I know I couldn't ask for any more then what he showed last night, I'm pretty excited to see what else this guy can contribute.

Generally a reaction so fans feel as if they have some sort of 'input' or 'say' over an organization. If they end up being right about the said player they feel they contributed and a sense of accomplishment that makes up for their short comings in everyday life. Also humans are wired in a negative way mentally. Therefore most people focus on negative things in order to improve rather then positive things just how humans are.

I can definitely agree tonight was a great night for the Wings'. I was mainly pleased with how Ericsson handled himself out there. Looked real strong in the corners/front of the net, looked good from the point on the PP, and made good decisions defensively.

He has yet to put pounds on his frame. He seems to be on the ice more often then not. And did you see him look like a rag-doll in front of the net on the powerplay? Eh, I really don't mean to rain on the parade, but it just seems to stick out to me I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but I just say what's on mind.

Sharks Pavelski gets a 5 minute major and a match penalty
Carman replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
I saw it, and didn't really see anything jump out at me as intent to injure. But I didn't see a good look so I'll reserve my judgement. Wait, nevermind since he is a Shark he should be suspended til' playoffs. -
Great fight. But those announcers really think we have a rivalry?
-
I'll give him the credit on producing. But man is he weak.
-
Wow. Hell is freezing over. What a weird game.
-
I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME. PLEASE TRY AGAIN USING A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE.
-
Best wishes for Hossa Never going to leave my thoughts until I see him back on the ice.
-
Can we get Kopecky A. Rod's cousin? I've never seen such a weak 6' 2" player. Did have a nice Shortie goal though. Good period. And best wishes to Hossa

Hopefully this is all precautionary, but going head first into the boards like that was awful looking :(

Looks like the Red Wings & the Sharks battling off the ice, Robert

... Because careers are ended by Calf injuries. Please, Neil would help this team. What this team doesn't need are 35+ year old declining "grinders" that can't play defensively to save their lives. I'm not for giving away roster players for Neil though. Just making that clear. I also don't think we need to make that move to be successful, I just don't see a particular downside in giving it a shot. It's not like he is going to cost an arm and a leg like Bertuzzi. -

Hey if you want to enter the playoffs with Kopecky-Draper-Maltby, that's your prerogative. Don't try and senselessly insult my opinion that I believe Neil would benefit our team in a positive way. -

Just a calf injury, he should be 100% by playoffs.
