Brendan Morrison, Gary Roberts and Miroslav Satan all waived
Carman replied to Heaton's topic in General
If that happens they need to allow 3 digit numbers aswell. -
I like Avery, the guy just needs a good ass beating and he'll be fine. It's not like he is Steve Downie.

Looks like the Red Wings & the Sharks battling off the ice, Robert

Must get Neil. And laugh as the sharks 4th line (Roenick-Roberts-Lemiuex) all get heart attacks. *Fixed* -

Must get Neil. Must not let Sharks get Neil. -
Don Cherry, is that you?
-
Tomas Kopecky is a saint sir. Gordie would have lost his spot to him.

I would love to Laraque in a wings sweater. His blogs are amazing, and he is awesome for the community it could really help boost interest in the area. He also isn't a bad liability either.

Player =/ Team Zetterberg didn't single-handedly shut down Pittsburgh. Our experience, and depth absolutely dwarfed Pittsburgh. And just in case you forgot it's a team sport. This thread is about specific players, keep it that way. I'll say it again, THIS SEASON. 1. Malkin 2. Ovie 3. Dats 4. Parise 5. Crosby
-
I like Downey. But being fair his effort in GR this season is concerning to me. That said, you know what your going to get with Downey and he knows his role as good as anyone else in the league. Look foward to what he can give us.
-
Lmao, Zetterberg isn't on the same level as Ovie/Crosby/Parise/Dats/Malkin. I don't see how you can be so misconstrued. With that said the Stanley Cup is won through depth and experience. Period.

EVERYONE THAT IS MAKING FUN OF LILJA, HE WAS OUT THERE FOR OVER 1:30 AND WAS EXHAUSTED BEFORE HE EVEN DROPPED THE GLOVES. I'M NOT SAYING HE IS BOB PROBERT BUT HE CAN HOLD HIS OWN. Sorry, just irritates me when people just see a youtube video and try to judge fights. It's a pretty common rule for you non-hockey players to not fight someone on the end of there shift. With that said Lilja deserved the fight, and it was a perfect example of rest vs. unrested. End of story. If you want to see a bad fighter, I'll show you one. Anyways, good to see people recovering and taking precautions. It's going to a big game tomorrow night.

Good to see them mix it up. Tomorrow night is a huge night for the team.

Huds and Lilja.

Tonight one of my favorite non-wings Ethan Moreau got caught with a accidental high stick. It looked very serious, and I really hope this doesn't turn into another Berard type injury Anyways here is the video, it's quite graphic so be warned. :!: I hate seeing these type of injuries. I wish him the best. UPDATE: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=2693...=secStory_main He's back home, no surgery required, doctors will monitor it. This is really good preliminary news, hopefully the news keeps getting better.

That #18 from Canada is a real hockey player. GET IT DONE KENNEY.

Rumor: Red Wings Aquire Mathieu Dandenault from Montreal Canadiens for
Carman replied to Herr Hockey's topic in General
You can never trust the Montreal media. We'll see what happens. -
Btw defensemen aren't the only people that matter in the defensive zone. Leino failed to be strong on the boards and couldn't clear the zone, Helm failed to cover a player in front of the net. Now those are just two examples and a lot of our forwards aren't putting the effort into the defensive zone. But with that said, I can't be 100% confident in our defensive pairings. I would feel confortable if we didn't have to play Lebda/Meech, over lets say a Havelid, or another defensive oriented defenseman.
-
I agree I'm interested to see how he recovers from this. Although I doubt this is as big of a deal as So, I'm going to guess he can recover from the blunder, he should be able to cope with a one night *** whooping

I've been following Conklin for a long time, (NCAA, Green Bay Gamblers, etc.) One thing that stood out with him is his resilience and consistency. He might have everything to prove, but on the other hand he has nothing to lose. He has played out of his mind this year, and is finally coming into his own. He is always relaxed and almost never loses focus. If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on him being a success somewhere in the NHL.

Just throwing it out there and I'm not saying that this is 100% of the reason for Ovechkin's celebrations, but still might be interesting for some people. "At one time, Alex almost quit hockey because his parents were unable to transport him to the hockey rink on a daily basis. Alex’s older brother Sergei recognized Alex’s talent and unique passion for the game and insisted on taking him to the rink so he could continue to play. Years later, in an event that would change Alex forever, Sergei tragically died in a car accident. Alex still credits his late older brother for pushing him to continue to play hockey and thinks about him daily. To this day, when Alex scores, he will often kiss his glove and point to the sky in a salute to his brother Sergei." http://www.alexovechkin8.com/about/ What an absolutely class-less ***hole, right? It's who he is, I'm not saying you have to change you opinion(Your're entitled to it), but nothing is going to stop him.

Experiment with the pairings Lidstrom-Kronner (Kronner gets much more freedom to step up in the play to be physical and hopefully gain confidence) Raffy-Stuart (Veterans, should be able to play together if not the bottom 4 can be juggled.) Lilja-Lebda* Try for a depth defensemen like Havelid for Lebda's spot. I'm not 100% positive we have enough cap space come playoff time for a rental, but hopefully we could shed some salary or just have an even exchange with the trade.

Quincey?

It cracks me up reading some Bruins' boards wanting to trade Thomas. It's completely inevitable that no team will ever be happy with their goaltending. But that was a very exciting game to watch. Capitals are very entertaining, I just don't see them having the depth for a long playoff run. Also if that rumour about Pronger to Boston has any merit, just wow.
