Thomas is really earning $4,384,332 more over Howard. Guess we don't need Franzen on our team. WOOT Zetterberg! Hudler's been very good lately.
-
I hate it when our crappy second year goalie is so bad he leads the league in wins.
-
6:16 TOI Still strong as hell, seems to be skating real good too. Playing with Hedjuk/Duchene. Man he's fun to watch.
-
Hmm 4 games... It's a start, a slow start but it's still something. He's really hurting his team, Penguin's are having trouble filling a roster just off injuries, not to mention dumb cheapshot hits that hurt everyone involved.

Cooke is the very definition of "dirty player". It's getting old, he needs to be sitting for a long time.
-
Hudler+Meech for Backes + Conklin /dreamworld off
-
Non-salary dream world I'd go with Quick. But I'm not paying a goalie more than 4.5-5 million, I don't care how great he is so I'd be content with a young promising goalie like the Red Wings, or Montreal.
-
Hudler not being useless? Yay
-
Don't even try to rationalize with anything Penguin* related. It's just not worth the frustration. *Does not include Matt Cooke, guy deserves whatever anyone ever says about him.

Sorry I enjoy great hockey players and don't live inside of a box that's all Red Wings all the time. I'm a hockey fan. Forsberg washed up? I never saw that, he's been injured yes, but he's never played "washed up", he's always been productive for whatever NHL/other competitive hockey he's played. If he wanted cash he would go to the KHL and be worshiped, this is not about money, it's about a great player striving to end his career by his own terms and give 100% of what he can give. Don't see a lot to criticize there, but that's just me.

People dwell on this "diving" thing too much. It's up for the officials to enforce the rule, not the players to have some 100% commitment to the "code". The NHL is about winning, the more you win, the more you get paid. If it helps your team win, you are going to do it. Do I like it? No. But it's not a perfect world where everything is tied up in the a nice bow. If you don't like diving, put the accountability on the refs and the league for not enforcing it enough. If they gave out penalties for everything that looked like a dive, sooner or later players will stop diving. Forsberg is just an absolutely amazing talent, and missing out on that entertainment because you hate him for "diving" is remarkably sad to me. He didn't choose to get injured and miss out on finishing his career on his own terms. He's not a 45 year old guy coming back out of no-where, he didn't even officially retire for crying out loud . Best of luck to Forsberg and may I witness another awe-inspiring plays before he finally cuts his fantastic career tragically short.

Does injury matter in crimes? Yes. A more serious situation demonstrating this is a drunk driving accident, the drunk driver is going to be hit by the law a lot harder if the person he hits has a serious injury rather than just a totaled car. It may seem to be unfair, but it works out in the end. If Havlat was to be out for a season like Savard, we'd be hardpressed as Wing's fans to want the disciplinary action determined by what the league deems as "intent" That said Cooke needs a lengthy suspension, this is the 1000th time he's done this. I'm willing to give a break on some of these, but when it happens time after time by the same person it's intent.

Awesome, one of my most respected hockey players, good to see him come back. Can't wait to beat him again in the playoffs.
-
2nd best team in the conference, top of the division, while playing with some key injuries. Not the end of the world, not having any luck around the net.
-
Ovechkin has a lot of room to talk about being a winner, right?
-
Pittsburgh is just a great overall team, the loss of Malkin won't be the end of their season. They have a good record without him.
-
Some big injuries this year, hate seeing great players go down for long periods of time.
-
Hmm, bad play by Staal, put the ref in a bad position I think. In retrospect it looks like a weak match penalty and a dive, but a first glance it looked like a blatant cheapshot. Don't like this play all around.
-
Another one of my pipe dreams is Brent Burns, absolutely love how he plays the position, he'll be a UFA after next year I believe as well(might be wrong).
-
Stranger things have happened. It's a pipe-dream to be sure, but until he's on the long-term contract anything is possible.
-
Lidstrom's team is awesome. Nice pick with Duchene
-
Biznasty needs his own TV show on HBO. I'd watch that in a heartbeat.
-
Man if we only we had an enforcer...
-
Darren Helm is just amazing.

Jeff Beukeboom, Cal Clutterbuck are my favorites. Honorable mention to a St. Louis prospect. Anthony ***** aka, A. ***** http://blues.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8474713
