This just shows you how badly Hudler drags down his linemates... Great job by that line, Hudler needs to find a way to get off our team.

Ovechkin listens to music that I do not like. Therefore he is my sworn enemy and a loser.
-
I kinda like that there isn't a lot of talk about him outside of the Wings showing support of him. Shows him that he isn't going to get any free passes and will have to work his way to the NHL 100% of the way. Which will probably mean he'll be a HoFer

Don't forget the fact that Bertuzzi hasn't been a bust.
-
Bertuzzi is awesome, what a great shot. Real solid start, nice play by Ericsson, man has he looked different the last couple games.
-
Maybe not this past Olympics, but I'm talking about past WJC's, WC's etc. I hopefully don't need to remind you of Crosby's success in either of those tournaments do I? I really wasn't refering to just this past Olympics where Datsyuk was literally the only Russian out there that had a clue what was happening, I'm just referring to individual statistics and achievements.

I thought Hudler looked much more confident with the puck last night. Great patience behind the net. That said he's still probably one of the absolute worst players in the entire league without the puck. He's lost a step, and has lost nearly every battle for the puck in all three zones. He's lucky he's on a line where Flippula and Franzen can come up with the puck on the fore-check, and keep possession. I've been extremely disappointed with how little Hudler battles, it's one thing if it's just physical limitations, but he's not even in proper position, it seems mental more than anything. Hopefully it's just rust, but it's getting a little late for that excuse to continue.
-
Good to know that Russia isn't a powerhouse after 50 years. I must have missed that memo.
-
He got off to a good start at least, hard to say how much that team will change in 5 or so years. He's had more international success and numbers/awards.
-
Someone is mad that Crosby has achieved more in his young career than Datsyuk will ever achieve. Never compare the two players, Datsyuk is amazing, but Crosby is a generational talent.
-
Don't like it, but we'll see. Hudler is running out of excuses.

I think Smith can be a force defensively. He's just been able to rely on offense for college. He's got the tools, i'm really interested to see how he progresses this season. Also whoever pointed out the +/- of mike green in the AHl should note that Hershey was the best team in the AHL by far. Not to mention +/- is a very unreliavle stat for defensive ability.

Should we risk our future for an elite defenseman?
Carman replied to dropkickshanahans's topic in General
I don't agree. I believe the front office is pretty happy with Howard so far. And especially with Holland's philosophy of having cheap goaltending. http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2010/07/free_agent_goalies_blame_red_w.html And I meant depth with forwards that why could use as trade fodder. -

I wouldn't. I trust our drafting to find the next great elite defenseman. I'd much rather take a risk on our own crop, then find out we are stuck with a 8 million dollar Doughty for 6 years that doesn't fit our system and doesn't have the intangibles we need(Not saying he doesn't, I just don't know if the risk is worth the reward). Although we do have a lot of depth in the minors, so really it could be possible for Kenny to get a deal going. Pretty much I'll trust the front office to do what's best with what resources they have. -
Hey now, I don't control what people think of me. I'm not desperate to be different, I just enjoy conversation between different viewpoints. Also calling me a ******, and judging my character because my opinion differs says a lot about your own...

McGrattan and Boyd placed on waivers
Carman replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Goons are just completely useless in today's game. -
You cannot be that specific with locations, Bettman doesn't choose to put a franchise in place, the owner does. And really I'm looking for the long-term future, I really believe that all the franchises can be profitable if given time to get a winning franchise. You aren't going to make money with a loser in a new city in any sport. California failed before LA as well so don't just pick and choose locations.
-
There will never be a successful team in California, screw trying to spread the game to non-traditional markets. There should be no reason to use the global influence the game has as an advantage compared to the other sports. We should all be happy to only have hockey in northern cities and Canada, just think of the exposure it will get!
-
Which is? Bettman has not done as bad of a job that many of you make his work out to be. His job has very little to do with the many things people criticize him for.
-
Hopefully he doesn't go, things are just starting to look up and Bettman can do some great things business-wise with leverage considering how good the product is. He's done a great job so far.
-
Those are the old expectations. The new expectation is for him to just being to play the game at an NHL level. This is just one of his final opportunities to prove that he can, or else we'll trade him off for a 4th so we have cap room come the trade deadline.

Miller scratched for Hudler again? haven't we learned that Hudler is useless by now?

I thought Kieth Ledger was a better batman but meh. Why does pittsburgh always has the better fans, players, and arena. I'm sad
