Eh, can't win them all. Had a very bad start, and tried to fight our way back. Got better as the game goes. No biggie. Hopefully Osgood can play like he did the last two periods instead of the first two. Hudler looked better today, actually the whole 3rd line played better.
-
Ok pull osgood he's done.
-
Wow Osgood looked awful...
-
Nope, I have faith that Osgood can still win games.
-
Hopefully that injury doesn't linger. Osgood will be fine, I'm not worried.

Here is part of it. I don't know if that's fair, considering they are giving him ample room to gain speed though.

In that situation there were not media surrounding the players immediately after the win. Chelios did it as a Wing, but he didn't even try to shake the player's hands, he just walked off the ice. Crosby at least tried to get there after his interview. It was wrong of him, but it's not like he is checking players from behind like Ovechkin... /crosbydefense off -

yeah that was a sarcastic response to a guy just bashing "American football" That said when you get into the discussion of athleticism, it's very hard to compare the sports. They play a completely different game that's focused around a Anaerobic exercise with an quick spurt of physical exertion, compared to a more aerobic exercise which has moderate energy exertion throughout a lengthy period of time. It's two different kind's of fitness that I have a hard time comparing. I'm willing to bet a Rugby player can run a lot longer, but I also would bet a offensive line man will bench more etc.

Kopecky is definitely going to have a injure himself so he can sit in the stands with Hossa...

Sounds like you are jealous. At least Crosby doesn't ditch all-star games like Detroit's leaders. -
One thing those numbers cannot produce is how much harder it is to line up these perfect simulated hits in hockey compared to football. The speed also comes into play in the matter that it's very rare to see a 100% mass+speed conversion into a hit in hockey, when in football it's a little more common just because the slower speed and the way the game is played(A lot more players, less room etc.).

I don't think so. There was some pretty brutal stuff done back then. Then again I'm only 21 years old so what do I know. -
Abby is coming off a rib injury, those can linger a little bit, and if he's not 100% there's no point in putting him in the line-up, over Miller.

That's completely nuts, no offense . Professional athletes are much faster than the college athletes. I might agree that the top level guys from college might be just as fast as NFL players, but the vast majority of players are no where close. There is a big difference in speed on the defensive end in the NFL compared to the defenses in college. Although that is what makes college football fun, is to see phenomenal athletes like Reggie Bush and Denard Robinson just blow away the competition in college.

Huh? A point to hitting is to wear done your opponent, and especially in a high traffic shooting area. It was a needed hit, he did his job in trying to get the guy to mess up his shot. What's he going to do, let him wind up a slap shot from the top of a the circle? I mean really, it's hockey, you should be able to hit a player with the puck anywhere on the ice legally with your shoulder, that's how the is meant to be played, and has been played since it's inception. Elbow to head hits, and i'll even get you hits like the Richards hit where 100% of the head is hit and nothing else deserve to be punished. But if you are going to start enforcing these hits to the head that just hit part of the head in the open ice it will severally limit the style of play of playing defense from the very fundamentals. Hockey is a tough game, always has been and always will be. There is no reason a shoulder check should be illegal.

You act like you are reading his mind when he set up these lines. It looks to me like he just put the 6 best players in the top 6. It's up to Hudler/Cleary/Modano to produce, they aren't going to get a promotion for being awful...

I'd still take Crosby over any European player. That said I'm not surprised, Datsyuk is just an unbelievable player in every aspect of the game, I'd certainly take 10-15 less points and get the best two way center in the game. I do hope he can get his point totals up around 100 so he can get some more national recognition for his skill, but to me that's not necessary. The Zetterberg v. Datsyuk debate isn't even one for me. They are equal, Zetterberg has had a little more injury troubles in the regular seasons, but has came to play in the playoffs. Datsyuk has been lucky on the injury front and has been able to be very consistent the last couple years in the regular season which make it seem like he's better.

Cool, exactly what I want Babcock to do. Try a little vocal inspiration first, then start taking them out and replacing them with Abby.

Rugby isn't even tough, so that's why they don't need to wear pads. Football players are superior athletes anyways, and it's a better sport to watch. Soccer doesn't even count as a physical activity so it doesn't deserve the name.

Exactly I said "I thought". I know that the rule is a horrible now, thanks though. Ruining the NHL, one step at a time.
-
Yep I agree, it's too fast of a game to try and rule out shoulder to head hits without really hurting open ice hits in the long run. Players just aren't going to take those chances in the open ice because it's almost impossible to insure you do not contact the head at all. I thought the rule was that the principle point of contact could not be the head, and in the Dustin Brown hit it wasn't yet he stills get the game. It's really going to hurt the number of open ice hits in the future, and I really dislike it.

Players should keep their heads up?
