HOWARD hahahah He loves that face-wash. So awesome. What a night.
-
Great news. What a good opening night for us Wings fans. I couldn't have drawn up a better game(besides Ericssons injury )
-
That a way guys. Who says the Wings are soft?
-
uh oh Big Rig off the bench. Limping? He's not been too bad today hopefully it's not serious. Back spasms is the report.
-
Awesome. Zetterberg and Datsyuk connecting. This is fun.
-
Howard's rebound control has been very solid so far.
-
Puck was on it's edge. Nothing you can do there, he was trying a quick touch pass. Even the best can't control that.(Well maybe Crosby could).
-
Attack the poster not the post. Good one. And my basement is very lavish, thank you very much.
-
I didn't say he was the reason they lost. I just said he was a reason they didn't win. Enforcers are useless for winning games. Their impact on the game is meaningless with the instigator penalty.
-
Can't get better than this. That a boy Mike!
-
WHAT A PLAY. Flip+Franzen! All year baby~~~!!!
-
ZDH look great. Nice play in the neutral zone by Ericsson.
-
Guess I should say just useless for actually winning hockey games. If I was a GM I'd definitely have an enforcer, but not because it helps my team win, but because it's entertaining as hell and sells tickets.
-
Just another example of the uselessness of an enforcer. I hope he's alright, but did him getting ko'd really help his team in anyway except negativly? I'm sure having that heavyweight for the Oilers was the difference right?

Capitals will barely make the playoffs, nevermind actually get out of the first round. They have no goaltending, no defensive depth all around, and just an awful awful coach that refuses to deviate from anything that worked in the AHL. Boudreau is my main sticking point with the Caps, until they get rid of him, or he does a complete 180 on his coaching style I don't see them as a legitimate threat. I'm still thinking it's between Philly or the Pens. Maybe New Jersey depending how Kovalchuk settles in and if Brodeur can stay healthy.
-
Agreed about Toews. I'm baffled about a lot of this list. Daniel and Henrik separated by so much? Brad Richards 49th?
-
Miller put up similar if not better numbers while in the AHL...
-
Who says Ritola has a higher ceiling then Miller actually?
-
Ritola doesn't have any potential in the minds of the management, that's why he was waived. Face it, he did not perform well enough in his several years here to win a spot on the best team in the league. He had every opportunity to prove himself, and he failed to do so.
-
He's had a couple years to prove he can make the Red Wings. But no, I'm sure the Red Wings have no clue what they are doing and decided to waive the next Gretzky for s***s and giggles.
-
Not saying that, but this is a different situation then most other line pairing discussions. This is pretty much a last ditch effort to get Ericsson back to where he was. We would be a much better team if Ericsson can get his confidence back and play like he did, then just staying pat.
-
I see where you're coming from. But I don't think this move will last a long time. This looks like just a way to help Ericsson's confidence to get him to play like he used to. Now if this move lasted a couple months I wouldn't be a fan of it, because it would just be masking Ericsson's poor play. But I think of it more like a boost to get Ericsson some confidence before we give Kindl the reigns to see what he can do in the 6th spot. You are the one dwelling on Babcock's lines. If you haven't realized by now Babcock shuffles the lines as much as anyone else in the league. This isn't a long term move.
-
3rd pairing doesn't exactly mean 3rd pairing TOI. Wings aren't going to have Lidstrom and Ericsson play 30 minutes a night, and Babcocks not taking Kronwall off the PP or anything. Over exaggerate more.
-
If Ericsson can't play well with Lidstrom then that's all the management needs to know.
