No big loss, he couldn't earn a spot on the team. Obviously he didn't work hard enough. Good luck to him.

If Maltby has outperformed Eaves I have no problem with this. None of us know what's going on in every practice. I want the players who work for a roster spot.

Oh yeah, I'm hoping the best for Ericsson too. But we do have a pretty good defenseman waiting behind him as well. I don't want to waive Ericsson or anything crazy like that yet, but I am disappointed in his performance and not sure why you say I shouldn't be. -
Have to give Erisson a lot of rope to work with. He's proved he can play at a high level, he just needs to find a way to get there again.

I sort of agree, but for a player that's competing for a spot you would think he would improve. He's not played well in the preseason, so why should we expect him to play well in the regular season? -

Saying I need to get a life is a mature response, really. I just call them as I see them, I haven't seen Osgood play well in a long time. He's had a few solid starts, and I'll give him all the credit when he starts putting it together. If he was coming off a shutout I'd give him the benefit of the doubt on this game, maybe the team just doesn't feel confident in front of Osgood? They surely don't seem to play as well as they do in front of Howard the past year. -

Yeah, I guess Dubnyk and Toskala were worse. I love comparing Osgood to the worst goaltenders in the league anyways, just shows you how good he really is. -

So Osgood planning on being the worst goalie in the league for a second straight year? He's off to a good start in this preseason with a 5.45 GAA and .850 SV%. That's before this game as well. -

I wouldn't take him as a 13th forward on the Griffins, they guy is absolutely awful and can't do one thing well. This guy had 25 seconds of SH time total last year in 56 games, and played 6 minutes. He's completely useless.

You don't know that. He hasn't really had any major injuries yet, and has consistently played 70+ games. If a team is willing to give him that contract more power to him. Blame the teams, not the player. Hockey is a tough game, they deserve their money especially when he is a proven Norris candidate.
