Last I checked we didn't have an American HoF bound forward named Modano. If I'm wrong sorry.
-
Modano will certainly help the future, he's an immediate improvement on the third line and offers a different mold of successful hockey player that helm, Abby, Ericsson etc. can take advice from. I'll take a proven commodity over a marginal prospect every day on this current wings team.
-
Nah, he sent out qualifying offers to both of them at the same time, it's just Miller agreed to it faster then Eaves has. It's not that Holland wanted one or the other more.
-
Because Holland decides who signs the contract first right?
-
Awesome, Miller did well on the PK. Hopefully he can pitch in like this more often
-
Wow horrible news so unexpected. He'll be remebered.
-
Not sure the point of just posting a picture.

You are just jealous of us cool people that wear pink polo shirts with the stuck up collar who thinks we are the s***. On topic, it's really almost too hard to think about. Zetterberg has done nothing to warrant that he needs a change of scenery and neither has Getzlaf. The intangibles are too hard to compare considering the only people who really know are in the locker room. Getzlaf is also a different player type of player then Zetterberg. Really it's almost comparing apples to oranges to me, both players have their strengths and weaknesses and while the past likely sides that Zetterberg is a better player, the future might be a different story on just production. So I'd most likely turn down the offer mainly because Zetterberg fits the Wings identity. And I'd guess that the Ducks would turn down the offer mainly because he fits the Ducks identity.

Lombardi is a fast skater. Anyways, I'm interested on when the wings are going to pull the trigger on a bottom of the line-up forward/defenseman. It's getting around that time after the first major wave of the over priced free agents, hopefully Holland can find that young and gritty player that we are missing.
-
Holland and the Wings. Mainly because I'm a complete homer and the Wings are the best team every single year.
-
I'm not a fan on preseason projections at all. But if I had to choose a team I would go with Vancouver in paper at least. Although I would just throw the wings, nucks, sharks, kings, and Chicago as the class of the west rather then just one team.
-
They've improved and should be one of the favorites in my opinion. But definitely not 'the team to beat'.
-
Solid and safe moves. Hope things work out for him.

Bill Sweatt was very impressive in the NCAA with Colorado college, he's got fantastic speed and very good hands. He was quite dynamic when I watched him, he might even be able to jump right into the line up.
-
They also lost Bill Sweatt, that kid is really fast and going to be a damn good player. I watched a few of his NCAA games and he was dynamic. Pretty decent trade for both teams.

I wouldn't have minded playing in the Palace for a brief stint while the new arena was built. The Palace is an absolutely outstanding stadium. It wouldn't be the end of the world in my opinion.

It's not just money that Lilja is looking for. He wants on oppurtunity to play in the top 4 and 20 minutes a game and the wings just can't offer him that playing time.
-
I agree Edicius, Lilja is good enough to be in the top 4 on some teams. And from the first story it looks like that's what he wants. I'm not sure why Lilja was scratched for Lebda, could of been a nagging injury that wasn't reported though.
-
You guys actually take the agent's word over Hollands? Holland already stated that he offered Lilja a deal, but Lilja wanted more and a bigger role on a team. Lil's agent is just playing the game, just like Eva said.
-
Not up to Kenny. Lilja chose to test the market, and Holland would never not comply wish Lilja's wishes.

Rafalski Considered "top six signings since the 2005-06 season"
Carman replied to cjm502's topic in General
Rafalski is one of the best offensive defensemen in the league. He might be overpaid, but it's not egregious. And overpayment tends to happen when you sign elite players when they are a free agent in their prime. -
North America is just a better hockey breeding ground. It's quite obvious, look at the Olympics and World Juniors. North America is just the best.
-
He'll end up on Crosby's wing. Probably not a bad idea if he came cheap.
-
It was certainly a factor, but he was decent before he got the privilege to learn from the best player in history.

I've noticed McKee's stick much more then Lilja. McKee has really good active stick around the net and corners.
