We don't have room for him have too many players that play the small scoring role. However if Hudler didn't decide to come back I wouldn't have minded signing Maxim.

He's a better player then what we currently have on the roster at his place in the line up? Bot to mention I like him so that automatically puts him above ever other option easily.

Ethan Moreau has always been one of my favorite players. If the numbers work he could really help our team in the bottom 6.

Forsberg's career was cut short prematurely due to injuries, I hardly think that's the same in Favre's case granted he wasn't 100% but he didn't have the extent of injuries like Forsberg not to mention the age difference.

Ville's performance did have an impact on Holland's decision to trade him for cap space. There were other players Holland could of waived instead of trading Leino. He was given every opportunity to play in the top 6 due to the injuries and just could not find his confidence with the Wings and we were in a pretty desperate situation.

Crosby actually does play on the PK in critical situations. It's just his abilities are much better used on the offensive, and Pittsburgh has plenty of very good depth players that can effectively kill penalites. You do realize that Crosby averaged more PK time per game this season than Datsyuk did right? Since when did the amount of PK time become the sole determining factor of someone's two-way ability anyway?

Huh? You do know Crosby had a much better play performance than Toews right?

Dan Cleary is by no means irreplaceable but I really doubt we could get full value for him when he's coming off the injuries he's had.

1. Leino was released in order to free up cap/roster for Franzen's return. 2. Holmstrom is a specialist that is the very best at what he does. 3. He can still score goals, 25 goals for under 2 million is an absolutely great deal. 4. You can not pay too much for a player like Lidstrom, especially when you aren't talking 8-10 million. Before last year I was in the same boat as you, I didn't think Homer had a place in the top 6 due to his skating ability. But he clearly proved me wrong last year on his way to being the second leading scorer. Lastly Steve Yzerman over Ken Holland? Damn I've probably replied to a troll. Oh well.

He's going to be a solid player that has great hot streaks. He's going to be sort of like Bertuzzi in terms of consistency through out the year.

We didn't have a real enforcer like Philly does. That's clearly the difference.
